@MaskedMarv6 жыл бұрын
Indeed. When the masked one was in the North of England many years ago there was at least handful of teams practicing a good level of 'catch' (or the local variation of it) in local sports centres and church halls. They were just real low-key.
@TheTaterTotP804 жыл бұрын
@@oneguy7202 It's nowhere near extinct. You won't find it in London but you'll find it up North and the Midlands in old industrial towns, rural and country towns and even in some cities. Similar to Cornish wrestling in Cornwall, there's wrestling in East Anglia, Yorkshire, Lancashire, Wales, Scotland, Ireland etc. all over with different variations and CACC is still going strong here. BJJ is the current fad, like how in the 80's everyone wanted to learn Karate and Kung Fu, but it didn't somehow take away from Catch wrestling nor does BJJ. As long as people still care about the history, culture and want to learn, it will be here as it has been for literally thousands and thousands of years.

@Peter Amarillo. Settle down mate. You are clearly a BJJ practitioner. Don't get so defensive. BJJ is a great art and so is catch and other forms of grappling. Saku smashed the Gracies and that is why he is called the Gracie Hunter/Killer. Nothing wrong with that. He had their number and has also lost to them once. The Royce one is not counted as it should have been a no contest as Royce was on steroids and barely won the decision. Its a disgrace to the gracies. Ralek was legit but understand Ralek in his 20s and Saku way past his prime. Just let it go bro..you are sounding like a Gracie cock rider
@PauloSilvaX2 жыл бұрын
Sakuraba had only one weapon against the Gracies, and the Gracies didn't study well so he'd lost In the fight against Ryan, you could already see that the Gracies had already understood Ryan avoided taking the back... but that limited Ryan, so they understood the mistake, but not how to deal with it Cach had a weakness as big as kimura in JJ, SOCCER KICKS... For Sakaruba's game to work, he had to turn his back on purpose, and then apply the kimura by reversing the position... If instead of taking the back the Gracie kicked... especially on the turtle, it was gae over... But the other weakness of the Gracie was the obsession with finishing fights, and through the game of positions... Chute Boxe quickly caught Sakuraba's weakness, the Gracie didn't, Ralek almost fell into the same kimura when Sakuraba was 42 years old But you don't see any lineage or representative of Sakuraba's style today, because he didn't have anything great, he was all full of holes and dysfunctional, Sakuraba almost died in one of the fights because of these holes in the catch game... There was just a more efficient trap in which the Gracies followed like a bee to honey...
