Hey man, I really appreciate these videos. I tried playing eve last year and every aspect of the game just went completely over my head. I picked it up again recently to give it a fair chance. Your videos have really helped simplify what's important based on the task you're performing, and the simplicity if it helps me understand how each of eve's aspects intertwine with each other. Thank you for the time and energy you put into these videos, and keep it up!

May I ask a silly perhaps? Drag bubble from the gate to the ice may give time to leave in peace? Thanx for your time to make the series.

You can add any defensive options you want, but in my opinion warp bubbles won’t stop proper fast tackle. You will also need to replace the bubbles as people like to kill them for no reason other then to just pop them. You would either need to import or build them and that would be an extra expense.

Love the vids man, wish we could see the holds while youre explaining. Good info though. Ive used alot of your recommendations building my own fleet. Keep it up =)

How are you matching velocity with the Rorq? Just manually? I doubt I'll ever fly a Rorq but as a miner it's nice to dream. Very informative video.

@JAKEL33T Can you please put up a plat list that is in numerical order for each series? I love your eve stuff.

I was thinking a lot about what ship take to ice belt Rorq or Orca. In fact - Orca is my choice. Ab - 10 sec to run away. 260k cargohold. And yes, for safety i don't use siege. Of course this about solo))

Great Chanel just found it and gave me a lot of ideas on how to re direct my char, do you use a similar setup for highsec mining, having just returned to eve after two years I'm pretty sure how I used to do things with hulks has changed.
@juanchojuanchitobooks Жыл бұрын
Hi how are you my friend, I would like you to try it with a porpoise and two hulks.
@Ancoice Жыл бұрын
haha yea thought the same its no use undocking that tarketpainter if u dont commit to seige and compress then a porp is allways 100% safe
@JAKEL33T Жыл бұрын
The porp moves to fast to be effective at dragging also the fleet hanger size makes it tedious.

@@JAKEL33T yea for sure i box 1 prop and 4 hulks and 2 cov but to scared to get a rorq on field

I take it you’ve given up on getting a fresh account to omega?
@JAKEL33T Жыл бұрын
No, we did it by episode 10.
@whatta77938 ай бұрын
I'm new to the game, what do you mean fresh account to omega? Can you buy omega with ISK or something?
@whatta77938 ай бұрын
Ignore my question. I searched the regional market, looks like you can buy PLEX, 5m ISK per 1, and then you can buy 30 days of Omega for 500 PLEX in the Eden Store. So, approximately 2.5 billion ISK to buy 1 month of Omega. I guess that's what you are talking about when you say taking a fresh account to omega?

While I love your content, I do not love your Rorqual fit. The Highs are fine, and the Lows do not lower your align time. Lowering max velocity doesn't really help to align out faster. You'll align out at 33ish seconds regardless of your max velocity. But since you are dragging your hulks, align time isn't that big of a deal. Now onto your shield tank, it's, for a lack of a better word, kind of poopy. If you are trying to be slippery, it's not too bad, but if you get caught, you are going to probably lose that rorqual. With a big enough tank, the fleet that tackled you can continue to pound on you and not really make a dent, and they will get bored and eventually leave or you run out of cap boosters (which can take an hour in some cases). But this is a solo gig, so if you get tackled while out as a solo Rorqual, well you are probably going to lose that ship. With 8000 m3 of space for drones, you can fight back at around 900 dps while using heavies. If those hulk pilots have combat ships in the ship maintance bay, you can hop in and start jamming the tackle to get your Rorqual safe and then jump out or fight back. Griffin is a cheap e-war ship that can get you out of a jam. However, captial ships that are tackled tend to have a lot of people willing to get in on that kill, so you are probably pooched either way. In an ideal situation, you'll want to have fleet support near by to counter any sort of hit going on against the Rorqual, but if you are solo, that means you need to be super slippery. Highly recommend having a cyno alt near an insta-dock to light, jump, and dock. Practice using your tank so you don't lose all your cap and use smart bombs to deal with drones and frigates.

I'll also add, that a Porpoise while sieged can get 41.6% bonus to your cycle time, and the Rorqaul has 43.9% bonus while not running the core (61.5% while running the core). Porpoise does not have the ore hold size, so you'll need to jetcan mine, and you won't be able to compress afterwards, increasing your overall time to clean up when you are done. Porpoise also costs 200 MIsk vs the 7Bil the Rorqual will end up costing you. It's hard to justify using the Rorqual if it's not running the core. It's still your isk, but man, I have a hard time justifying using a Rorqual if I can't siege it.

I stated in the video that if your not dragging then the fit would be drastically different. If you get tackled dragging then you shouldn’t be out in an rorq in the first place because your were clearly not paying attention to intel or local. A fleet doing this is impossible to catch when done right. You could literally run 0 tank on the rorqual & it wouldn’t change anything. Doing this with a prop is annoying considering the fleet hanger size but if you want to siege then yes a porp would be better, but not for dragging. Don’t confuse “always aligned” mining with the tank needed for stationary mining or siege mining. They are different.
@jabowa Жыл бұрын
@JAKEL33T where would this method be most viable? The difference in boosts doesn't seem that viable in null as you can jetcan everything and the cans will be left alone. The biggest pain is grabbing all your cans when you are done, but this isn't that big of a pain considering the price difference between the porp and rorqual
@JAKEL33T Жыл бұрын
Depends on preference, personally Ive never enjoyed jetcan mining. It’s easier to do a 20 min drag then just be done without any extra hauling after the fact. it’s really useful to have a rorq in NS, especially since your not always mining moons or ice in your main system. Conduit jumping a mining fleet makes logistics easier. Same for moving ore/assets. just jumping it is faster & the rorq makes a good suitcase.

@JAKEL33T I hate to say it, risking 5-7bil for convenience is not something the average eve player is willing to do while 200Mil will do just fine and get you there. We will agree to disagree, I do think drag mining is a novel idea and a very safe one, which is the point of your video. I just don't agree that it's overall worth it when cheaper options exist that can get very close to the same yield.
