1) Slowmo (120 fps shots>24 fps timeline) 2) Colorgrading (flat color shots) 3) Music 4) Match cut 5) Wider aspect (like 2:1)

How do you do the color grading for videos? Can you recommend a good video editing software or app
@jaxsian23104 ай бұрын
I think DaVinci Resolve is a pretty good software for color grading, it's free and it has a lot of settings, for editing, compositing, color grading, sound effect... That's a very good software @@explorer8125

Thank you for this video Jake. I just bought a GoPro 9 this past weekend and I have updated my settings per your opinion and so far the videos are super smooth. I am excited to dive deeper into all the settings.

Great tips! My top cinematic tip is about how to move the camera: instead of turning/rotating to pan, move along a single plane/axis (like the camera would on a slider or dolly) instantly levels up shots! GoPro’s are such awesome little tools 🙌🏼
@JakeRichandAnnaChah3 жыл бұрын
That's a great idea! - I think that's what I was doing when I filmed the shot moving towards the gate, had the gopro on the selfie stick and used it as a slider to slowly track through the flowers ;) (one of my favourite shots from the opener)

Video title s/b "How to Make GoPro *9 Onwards* Cinematics". Turns out I can't quite do half of these on the 7. Video starts at 1:28. 1) Very high res & frame rate. 2 (3:21) Set color to Flat. (It de-gray-ifies everything.) 3 (4:26) Typical upbeat music. 5:58-6:07 The rockiness of each footstep is noticeable. 4 (6:23) Match cuts (smooth angle transitions) 5 (7:13) Aspect ratio Liked the enthusiasm and enjoyed the informative share though. Thanks!

Great video, but you're misunderstanding why 24fps looks cinematic, it's the motion blur that comes with having the lens capturing the image for 1/24th of a second - it won't have any such cinematic effect if you shoot at 120fps and then just modify the playback speed to 24fps in post unless you use some filter to artificially create the motion blur.
@tomcowan82282 жыл бұрын
You're misunderstanding frames per second with shutter speed. Motion blur comes with slower shutter speeds, not lower frames per second. The lower frames per second leaves larger gaps in the motion (from frame to frame) which are eyes are used to. Those frames don't need to be blurred. General rule of thumb for cinematic is 24 fps shot at 1/48 or 1/50 shutter speed.

Super useful. I received a GoPro hero 10 as a Xmas gift and upgraded from a GoPro hero 4 which is such a dramatic upgrade and really glad I found your channel. I never really got it editing video it was more just using an app to let it automatically create videos for me like quik from my vacations etc but now with a 6 and 8 year old and how much we started traveling I've decided to take some time to experiment with video editing and man I'm excited to get started. 👍

Can you do a video more on the editing process of how to make it cinematic ? Like which is the best platform to use, settings, maybe even color grading. Another video idea to can be " How to plan out telling a story " so that the video clips actually make sense. Thanks and love all the videos !
