It's great to see at least one of the big synth manufacturers continuing bringing out great synth apps. I'd love to see Waldorf update their stuff. Loved your demos! Great stuff.
@mr_xzzy2 жыл бұрын
The app is splendid, but my one big critique is one of the points you really liked.. custom timbers. Yes the idea is great, but you can't import whatever samples you want and have them work in a wavetable, most everything gets that weird buzzy electrical noise as demoed @10:00. If what you want is electric hums that's great, but if you want anything else the waveforms have to be crafted in a very specific way. Fortunately there are massive libraries of samples that were made for the original animoog that work great, so the options are out there.
@JakobHaq2 жыл бұрын
It has to do with the length of samples. If you don’t want that “buzziness”, then use short single cycle samples. The buzziness is heard when using samples that are longer than a single cycle. The timbre builder basically granulates the sample and makes it fit into a cycle. It’s not a bug, nor is there something wrong with how the engine works. It’s how wavetable synthesis works basically. I hope that clears it up. 😅

Wow, Jacob - excellent Video. You are such a professionalist and have improved so much in this kind of Video Production. I rarely see a KZbinr who spend so much effort to details, like you. Most Videos I Watch these days, I see at double speed, because you don’t loose much, but not with yours. It’s a Joy to watch…it’s like a Hollywood-Tutorial 🙂. Thank you su much for your ongoing high quality Video Content. 🙏

Hey Jakob. Great review. I was looking for a new synth which offered me something, let’s say‘different’. As a result of your review I plumped for this; didn’t start with the freebie, installed everything - live dangerously 😅 Anyways, have only had it all for ten minutes; I have no real idea what I’m doing, yet but I’m loving it already. Thanks man 🤙😊

It’s wild to me how a company that is so famous for making legendary hardware synths can end up also making such revolutionary software synths. Usually hardware companies just farm something out to some random dev and it ends up mediocre at best.

Mk I does not have a tuning option…what to me makes a huge difference! Very powerful synth! Animoog Z offers a lot more…it is a huge modular synth…at least that is how I look at it. Model 15 and iMinimoog apps are also cool but nothing beats Animoog Z. I only like better the old GUI…

Is there a way to save the complete "state" of the app including what notes are held, arp on/off, hold on/off as a preset? I have the free version and when I save it only saves the patch sound settings. I'd love to be able to set the notes and save them with the preset or at least have the option to do so would be great.
