Older people dont get that the reason that video went viral is because he is younger, handsome, was dressed casually and singing great. This is what made it viral and attracted younger audiences. Opera is living art but many times people act like it's this immutable thing where if you're not in a suit somehow it's disrespectful to be singing opera. They forget opera wa basically the top 40 of its time.

You probably will not ever read this, but I want you to know that even though I am over 50, and listen to classical almost exclusively, I have never enjoyed opera until you came along. I was always turned off by the oversinging, shrieking delivery of many female opera singers. I was a recording artist myself, a mezzo soprano, before thyroid cancer. Ah, but that's another life now. I just want to commend you, from one singer to another, and let you know that you have brought this music to me in a fresh way. I knew that there were no more castrati, but somehow I was unaware of true countertenors, and it has made all of the difference to me. Perhaps because of the increased chest cavity, and other things unique to a man, you are able to sing these pieces in a way that I can now hear that there are actual words. Your progression and phrasing, are extraordinary. When I hear female opera singers, they try so hard to project, to me the entire song sounds like an endless arpeggio to which there are no words. I would like to add that I am also half Polish!!!! May God Bless you and endow you with a wonderful career full of joy and happiness and the love of true friends. Enjoy each day, because you never know ( like me) when a performance may be your last.
@heavenlymilano5 жыл бұрын
Same here! I have always been a classical music listener who hated "shrieking delivery of many female opera singers". It is for counter tenors like talented Orlinski that enjoy opera after so many years avoiding it.
@wmnoffaith15 жыл бұрын
I'm so glad to hear that someone else understands what I mean? I thought it was just because I was ignorant and just didn't get it somehow. But the countertenors' delivery is so smooth, you can make out the individual consonants! It's extraordinary. I'm hooked now.

Today’s artists aren’t necessarily comfortable in front of a camera talking candidly about their work, especially so in different languages. I think you nevertheless set a great example of how to use social media to connect with fans. As someone who is intensely interested in this music, having the opportunity to see performers off stage goofing off, talking about the music, or other interests in life, helps connect me to the artists I admire. Love seeing scenes of tours, rehearsals, and of course, upcoming recordings. Thank you for the extra work involved to share what you finally discovered what you wanted to do in life.
