This is the first time I can look at this without running a screaming my head off. As a child I was sooooooooooooooooooooooo afraid of the Jonkonnus. OMG! I would run and hide under the bed. this was very scary....

They are full aware of its African "root era" connection. Apparently 99% of the Enslaved Africans the English kidnapped and put into degradation were of Igbo. They also reminded that their is a difference between "Jonkonnu and root Jonkonnu." The former being mixed with shakespearian elements and the latter in mostly rural Jamaica and therefore kept it's African culture. Bless
