How we say things in dialect in SVG also depends on what area of the country we are from. Both definitions of clout are correct. "Claat" is definitely purely Jamaican patois.

I think people from the leeward , Windword and Townside do not use some Patois words in the same context. For example Town we say : This house ramsak eh or look how yo have the place ramsak. We use "dirty" when referring to someone's behavior ( that gal have some dirty behavoir)

In Trinidad we say nosy (meaning pushing yuh nose in people business.Yuh too farse. We also say frontish. My bigger Sister & her friends once called me Wednesday because I placed myself in the middle of their chat. We pronounce brown as brong. We say clout ( a tap in the head. We say dotish (meaning stupid) & ask - yuh stupid ee! English version is You are stupid, aren't you? Also call people stupidy. I have heard people say Sin Vincent but I say Saint Vincent. Interesting challenge. Thank you.
