Haha off the texas coast you can't drop any bait down next to any structure at all and a snapper will eat it. I don't know why they think the numbers are low. Diving a wreck in about 140 foot of water there were thousands and thousands of them. They are eating up any and all the other reef fish we have.

I read in the newspaper yesterday that from Miami to the Keys the water temperatures have been highest that they ever recorded. Florida Fish and Game is worried that coral in these areas they call it bleaching or dying. They are send out diver to collect sample so they can grow them in their farms and in 5-6 years replant them in the rocks. Have you notice your water temp are really high?

They farm coral all around the state as is. You can see this up close and learn about it at the Tampa Aquarium. There's different areas where they'll hang coral from PVC "trees", "plant" them near the sand, etc just to see what works and grows them best. Been happening for years, and was really cool to hear about
