Don’t feel bad. As a Jamaican who is now residing in a foreign country, food in Jamaica is a lot more flavorful. Factors such as the sunshine and soil quality significantly impacts the flavor of Jamaican fruits and vegetables. Meat flavor is impacted by what the animal feeds on etc. You can get close to authentic Jamaican flavors by using certain spices and seasoning but it won’t be the same as using ingredients that are grown in 🇯🇲. This is one of the many reasons why people travel to Jamaica, just to enjoy its authenticity.
