The reason The Loud house movie looks off is because they hired a different animation studio (Top Drawer animation) instead of using the usual animation studio (Jam Filled Studio) to amped up for feature film standards. The reason why change animation studios, I honestly don’t know.

It also won’t help that it got released straight onto Netflix, the place where it has content on there for people to watch that they cannot find anywhere else and then forgot that it existed. See you’re just losing money when people don’t watch something like that.

I still remember my first viewing of Raya. I was mainly underwhelmed due to how quick the journey felt, it could have used an additional hour to its runtime to flesh things out better, but the more I thought about it the more frustrated I was. Its message is overly simplistic and feels like a stab in the back to those who are justified in their untrustworthy perspectives. I have a brother who was an absolute nightmare to deal with, always constantly shouting and being inconsiderate to the rest of the family, and while he has gotten better recently the trauma is still there. When you go through something like that, it's almost impossible to look past any of it and trust them again. So, yes, Raya is not a good film. I expected better from Disney, but then again Ralph Breaks The Internet was quite poor.

Hey Jambareeqi, while you did talk about Raya And The Last Dragon’s side characters, what did you think of Raya and Sisu themselves? For me, while Raya is certainly likeable, and I enjoyed her friendship with Sisu, Tong, Boun and Noi, it always bugged me that she bonded with them too quickly. I’m glad that they didn’t make her into a nihilistic person, but her change of heart felt way too abrupt. As for Sisu, while I like optimism, curiosity for human culture and her trying to help Raya through her problems, I found her to be rather one-dimensional, since after the scene where she’s tricked by the old lady, it seems like she’s going to learn that blindly trusting others can get you killed and she needs to realise that..,but nope! She just briefly gets sad and moves on, and it did irritate me that she just marches up to Spine, deliberately ignoring Raya’s concern that they could be killed if, and the movie plays it of like Sisu’s doing the right thing!

Encanto managed to be in my top tier area for movies from WDAS, like top 3! The Micheals Vs The Machines was great watching upon a second visit, and gives me solid hope for Sony. Lucca was just wholesome as heck and I had a good time. While I enjoyed Raya, there was a scent of studio interference since investors threw a tantrum over the first teaser, as well as a spurt of trying to undo political discourse that erupted here in the US when the film would have started production. Those are the ones that I have seen. As for the rest, I am interested in Wish Dragon, Vivo, Paw Patrol, and My Little Pony.

My biggest issue with Injustice is more of an issue with allot of animated DC and Super hero films and shows that try to be “adult” by adding in grotesque violence, fan service, swear words, and other adult language. Their attempts at being “adult” just comes off as more juvenile than anything else. It’s like the makers of these films and shows think that adding in as much violence, gore, and sex makes them come off as “cool” and “mature”, when really it’s just more cringey and immature than anything else. This also extends to shows i like as well, like the Amazon Prime series, Invincible. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a really good show, but the violence is so over exaggerated, that when we get to the scenes that are supposed to be shocking because of how violent they are, just doesn't have any impact because you’ve become so desensitized to the other gorey scenes up till now so it’s no longer shocking. And thats not even touching on the adult language. Character’s swearing left and right, making sexual remarks. One of the cringiest moments of Invincible for me was in the first few minutes of the first episode, when Amber is arguing with the school bully and he says “what are you one of those lesbians?” (Makes a Sideshow Bob groaning noise). Again, Invincible is a good show and i did enjoy it, but i hate how so many American animated Super Hero projects, whether they be animated films or TV Shows, are relying heavily on shock value violence and immaturely handled adult themes.

I've only watched a handful of animated films this year so I'm not sure if a ranking from me would be particularily interesting, but I'll share my thoughts on a movie I did watch that didn't make the cut for this video: Checkered Ninja 2 Synopsis: Aske is a 14 year old Danish boy who's developed a strong sense of justice who lives with his mother, stepfather and stepbrother, and they are planning a family vacation. Meanwhile, the sweatshop owner Philip Eberfrø escapes from his prison in Thailand and decides to hunt down Honeybee, one of his former employees who witnessed him beating a child to death. This prompts the spirit of Taiko Nakamura, a ninja who originally lived during Sengoku Jidai and who routinely avenges abused and murdered children, to possess a hedgehog and meet up with Aske in order to create a plan to travel to Thailand and stop Philip. This movie does a very good job at expanding on the themes of the original movie from 2018, which discusses the horrible ways children in the global south are exploited for cheap labor and how if you want to make a difference in the world, you have to take action, because if you don't, there's a very real risk that nobody else will. I also think the animation is very well crafted, especially for a studio from a smaller country like Denmark. It is a dark comedy whose sense of humor is very Danish (i e crude) which I understand is not for everyone, but for me personally it worked for the most part with one exception: there is a minor character who is a kathoey, which is a third gender in Thai culture that's close to, but not quite, what us westerners call trans women. And unfortunately this character is designed with transmisogynistic tropes in mind and her gender presentation is played for laughs in a way that others gender nonconformity. The saving grace is that this character only has ten seconds of screentime, but I'd prefer if these jokes weren't there at all. On the more positive side, I really appreciate how Aske and his stepbrother Sune bond throughout the movie. Their relationship wasn't the best in the previous movie, so seeing them start to get along and work together is really nice to see and could be a good message to kids that it's possible to get along with stepfamily or even that it's possible to turn over to a new leaf with somebody you couldn't get along with before. Aske's friendship with Taiko Nakamura is as strong as it was in the previous movie - I really like how the friendship between a teenage boy and the spirit of a centuries old ninja is made so genuine and natural. Additionally, Philip is a more active threat this time: in the first movie, Aske never confronted Philip directly, but here he does, and these encounters truly underline how unhinged Philip is - he's a heartless capitalist desperately clawing to keep what little is left of his reputation and he's prepared to take any measures necessary. If you like dark comedies and/or are interested in European animation, I'd strongly recommend both Checkered Ninja movies.

Honestly, I do really love Raya and the last dragon but I understand and respect your opinion. I don't see the movie as perfect but I can't help but relate to both Sisu and Raya as I too struggle with self respect as Sisu and can be distrustful as Raya while still wanting to be hopeful like the dragon. Plus the score is good and I like how creative and memorable the dragons are. The running on the rain drops to fly, I love that idea! It reminds me of how Haku from Spirited Away has a wolf like head and is more mammal like instead of reptile, because it's a different take on dragons that makes it memorable. As a dragon nerd myself, I definitely approve it! That's just my take though.

Heck, maybe just make Tabitha aware of what Tim, Ted and Tina were doing, so she could directly participate and help them out and his father could aid her with her role in the play without having to do anything that felt dishonest

While I do love Raya and the Last Dragon, I 100% agree with you that Raya was made equally responsible for Sisu's death. Namaari betrayed her trust 2x, and Films like this is something that needs to look at both sides of a theme. Yes, we need to learn to trust ppl but some ppl have done more harm than good that they CAN'T be trusted ever. This was my criticism of Spies in Disguise.
