Loved the Andy Griffith show and James Best. As a guitar player myself it was easy to hear that the sound came from an electric guitar and he was holding an acoustic. Big difference. Plus you could see that he was not making real cords. A great performance though. I loved it.

James Best really lived up to his name. Best has stated at reunion events that the guitar playing was done by jazz guitarist Herb Ellis. I always thought it was pretty cool the way Jim Lindsay's acoustic guitar sounded like an electrical one.

I had no idea that was James Best in that episode. He seemed like such a great guy. I never met him, but wish I had the opportunity. I had heard he lived in South Carolina near lake Murray at some point, which is the state I live in, but I am not sure if he had a house there or not. Great actor though.
