This song can be interpreted many different ways, but he has said in an interview that he wrote this after getting to know a US American soldier who later was KIA. Powerful song, like many of his are. Great reaction again 😊

@@SaeedReacts. PS! This one also received some hate, because the soldier is female and she left behind a wife. Go figure.. I don't know why people always wanna tell other people what they are allowed and not. Love is love, period.

I love this song. Death & dying have been an intimate part of my life since literally before I was born. My parents were married in a tiny country church out in the middle of farmland. That night my mom told my dad that wouldn't it be nice to be buried in the cemetery there when their time comes. Less than 4 years later we brought her "home" to that cemetery. She was pregnant with me when her symptoms started & received her terminal glioblastoma diagnosis very shortly after my birth. She chose to stay home with me, my brother who was 1 at the time and my dad for whatever time she had left. I got 18 months total with her...she passed away peacefully with us at home at age 28. I listen to this song every time I visit her grave. The church is no longer there but it's a very peaceful place to just visit & reflect. She grew up on a farm 20 minutes from there so it was truly like going home. Thank you for your reaction. 💛

"Champions" & "Goodbye My Lover" are great too! I remember when he got really known here, for "You're Beautiful" and i'll be honest, i really didn't like that song and still don't. I kinda disregarded him based on that and thought he was just a highpitched dude making music for teen girls, the "open" mind of a 15 yo boy, right? Luckily, started actually listening to his music and learning a bit more about him in my adult life and am able to enjoy and relate to his music. He's an amazing artist and overall, just seems like a great guy, very down to earth.

Heavy songs or any songs that make you feel deeply are the pinnacle of songwriting. Just checked, you haven't reacted to one of the greatest songwriters, Billy Joel. Start with his song "Leningrad" but then move onto "Piano Man" and "Allentown".
