I could remember my Dad playing this song over and over once a week after a hard day work and my Mother wouldn't like it, and also play it after they had an argument My Dad who pass away due to Throat Cancer back on 2011 at the age of 75 and a former Marine...this is for you Dad; I miss you.

He fined his band members $50.00 each if they screwed up. $50.00 was a lot of money back then hence the reason why they were one of the tightest bands on earth then.

I am throwing my hands 🙌 up in the air about the truth of these lyrics and the soul wrenching raw physical truth of his performance that is obviously heart felt!!! I got to see him in 1984 at “ The Ritz “ in Manhattan !!!! I was extremely thrilled to get to see him perform live !!!!! I was a young fan since hearing the silly yet fun song of his called “ I’ve got ants in my pants and I need to dance “ !!!!! I was 9 years old and yes that song absolutely made people across the country want to dance!!!! Yet this song is as deep as the ocean 🌊 about Man and Woman and history!!!! Man and woman’s eternal physical need for each other !!!!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤Love 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

@@--jxj__ I feel that exact way about it sometimes, too. That’s why having the lyrics still ring true in such a popular, and yes, soulful song I also respect from an artist’s point of view. That’s not to say the man himself was a man to aspire to be, besides his music. He may be for some… But this song can also be used as a HUGE reminder that the world is nothing without women as well. Though I understand the perspective you choose to see the lyrics from. We all get an opinion.

I saw the great JB in Brighton circa 2001 at Stanmer Park and remember the cape he had and he broke my heart being so close to him watching him in the moment singing this song and still hold the crowd in the palm of his hand even as a tired geriatric mover and shaker 🤩
