If you listen really closely to what James says it’s very telling about what his real relationship with Seth Rogen was really like. He says that Seth was his closest “work friend,” not his closet personal or best friend which means they weren’t very close on a personal level. He also said that he and Seth never fought which further clarifies what Charlyne Yi said about Seth enabling James behavior. If Seth truly “despises abuse” then they would of had fights about it. I'm a dancer and did a show in Germany at the Maritim hotel in '96: the European Emmy's. One of the numbers we did was entitled, "The Casting Couch", it involved a girl dancing for a producer who was sitting on the couch. It was a sexually overt dance meant to get her "the job". This 'me too' movement has come and a lot of people in the biz are trying to catch up. Teachers, actors, directors, producers, all have been caught with their pants down (pun intended). It was a given for centuries and now it has come full circle. There are many movies and stage shows that make fun of that very thing. There's a song in, "A Chorus Line" entitled, "Tits and Ass"!!! This reaction of people "coming out" is unbalanced. I do not condone that sort of behavior but let's be real... this shit has been going on for C-E-N-T-U-R-I-E-S!!! That is NOT an excuse for predatory behavior but sexual shit in showbiz is ubiquitous and I would bet is alive and well in many productions. We can't just throw everyone away. Don't get me wrong, "cancel culture" as it has now been coopted does not exist, and accountability HAS to be in place, and being called out for shitty things isn't being canceled. But when someone does what he is doing, takes the time, has the growth, explains that they understand where they fucked up.. You gotta give em fucking grace. Sheesh

cancel culture most certainly exists. Many actors/directors/etc have had no new projects after they got cancelled, were fired from their projects, or their career has slowed down. Whether they deserve that or not is a different story.

Are you saying what he did wasn't unforgivable and undeniable? You're treating as if what he did is some low-tier shit like got mad and yelled at an assistant or crew on set. You have a weird and bizzare view of what is considered serious crime or not. What he is being charged is high-tier sort of the "crossing personal boundaries" type of shit: Sexual Harrasment. The sad truth is, many people in Hollywood and regular life, could get away with taking advantage of people ( schools, bosses, films etc) and not be called out about it because their victims didn’t have a voice. Modern tech has given everyone a voice… This type of power play has been going on forever. People are now getting busted publicly about it. You think James Franco is the first guy to get laid because he’s famous? He’s just one that we know about. It’s a human nature dynamic that a lot of good people have been tested by and failed. Not uncommon for this type of sexual situation to happen in these circumstances. It’s sad but true. Franco went a bit crazy and misused his power to get dates with women. He needed to change. Looks like he’s dealing with it. Maybe folks can learn a good lesson from this. I hope the women he used can have good closure and move on to positive lives.

Not a famous guy. But we had a system back in the day. Girls came to our Thursday party and would hook up with one of the group to get VIP access to the big weekend party. They would come to the party and hook up with a guy higher on the food chain. We would go into the "regular" area and get girls numbers invite them to the Thursday party and they would hook up to get the weekend VIP access then bail and upgrade to a guy higher on the food chain. That was the game. NOW women wanna play the game then call foul cause they didn't get what they think they deserved or the relationship they wanted. It's BS. They've weponized hooking up. These women dont go after the sexy bussboys. They go after the club owners. When they don't get the bag they cry foul. It's foul. They're foul and men need to stop playing that game. Or get everything in writing before hand

@Speak Eazy: 100%. Franco banged groupies like every other male rockstar/actor/comedian in America. I've got to question some of these accounts that have male names calling him a predator, they sound exactly like women. This dude banged at least 200 women and if three or four of them had a problem with him, that's not a particularly big deal once you get into those kind of numbers. Especially since we know he did nothing illegal and the one thing people keep saying is "power dynamics". When you're a millionaire most women you date will be much poorer than you. So now there's a "financial power dynamic" with every woman that you meet.
@ajdoyle9559 Жыл бұрын
Look at what's happening with Israel Adesanya, he dated a girl for three years and she wants half his assets because of some common law they have in New Zealand, it's literally insane. Women want there to be a constant penalty for being a hardworking extremely successful male and men are just going along with it.
