Upon hearing this I started crying...seems like a part of me become whole... Why I forgot most of my childhood memories?.
@jonashjerpe74215 жыл бұрын
If you have blank spots during your childhood, it is likely that you were severely stressed and it is furthermore likely that you have repressed the memories altogether as a defensive reaction to trauma of some sort. These memories can often be recovered through therapeutic work.

Sherry, I hear you. You are not alone. I mean, you are actually sadly in the majority, at least in Western Civilization. Most avoid the realities of their childhood traumas, and repression is protective and UNCONSCIOUS. It just keeps getting heavier as each generation represses, so we have to do our part; the best we can. We are doing it for ourselves, yes, but for our children and, perhaps strangely, for our ancestors. When we recognize a resonating loss, we feel the grief. Let the tears flow, and know that they are healing. Blessings.

Thank you for sharing. You used the same language I would’ve. My life has just decided to turn upside down and only then have I realised the true extent of my repression and the irreversible (time) damage it has had. My passion to do the work arrived when I met the love of my life, whom is currently at stake if I let the fears of facing them win. I’m scared and I don’t know why. Truly bizarre. I leave this as a time stamp for myself. Lord have mercy. ❤️
