This video shows why IronWood is my favorite character. A man driven by fear and willing to do whatever it takes, only to end up becoming the monster he was fighting, and died a broken man.

Paranoia, arrogance, distrust, bullheadedness, PTSD, bad Semblance, staying in control, irresponsibility, scapegoating, refusal to compromise or negotiate, killing the disobedient, hoarding power, deciding on who lives and dies as if he were God and finally the cruel hand of fate. All of those were key factors to his downfall. He genuinely wanted to do the right thing but he did it all wrong. If you ask me, he should've been removed from command at least until he got his shit together. From a military standpoint, he's unfit to command if he's going through all of that. If you can't keep your head on, you're a danger to your whole unit. If I had my way, I would've appointed Winter as temporary General until Ironwood calms down.

This is a really good AMV! I particularly like how, in Ironwood's more sympathetic, or just impactful moments, Soldier seems to take the background compared to the other music (The only place I can really pinpoint this very well is 2:02 - 2:16, but it's there throughout the entire video)

This was amazing! I love the extended scene bits like the stuff from the 2D lore videos. So many good transitions too, favorites gotta be the one from the Amity Booth.

Beautifully done! I love Ironwood's character, and I also love how you included some clips from RWBY: Arrowfell aswell. Ironwood had some great scenes in that game, and this is the first AMV I've seen that includes some of them!

That's because they wrote him. Into being a tragic character and then finally a punching bag.

@@djmars1983 I wouldn’t call him a “punching bag” because that would mean he didn’t fight back. He was the one who lost his composure and gave into his paranoia. He fought till his bitter end fighting for what HE thought was right.

This video has almost convinced me to finish watching volume 8. I stopped at the halfway point. I still don't know if I'm gonna finish watching it. As things stand, a lot of whether I even get back into this series depends on if what I see about the rest of volume 9 interests me. Even then, I dunno how to feel about it all. This community and just how jacked up it's become with everyone feeling like they're at each other's throats over every little thing has more or less forever tarnished my enjoyment of... Just about everything after volume 4, honestly. I wanna finish Volume 8. I wanna watch and enjoy Volume 9 once it's done. I dunno if I'll be able to, but I want to.
