Sun following her purely because he's worried about her was an adorable reveal. Blake finally doing the 'my hero' thing was just so cute. The implied insta-friendship between sun and blake's mom I could warp into blacksun evidence. Blake's dad is intimidating and admirable at the same time. And finally, Sun's big moment of telling Blake like it is really tied the little black bow on the story. it may not have been the action, but it was the story's climax.

I love how Sun is so genuine to Blake. Like yes, he has a huge crush on her but, he never made that the whole reason why he's there. He seems to just assume the role as a friend and while, yes, he wouldn't mind being something more, he's never been like 'so... wanna smash?' or 'are we a thing now?' He genuinely cares for her well being which, in this day and age with all the fuck boys out there, it's almost hard to believe... Sun just seems even more like fiction even if he acts more real that most of those guys who befriend girls that they're hoping to date. I know he would still be there for her even if she ever rejects him. He puts being her friend first before trying to be anything more and I think that's what makes him so awesome. And I hate how some people say that he's a stalker. Without him, Blake would have never gained the courage to try and get Ilia back to her side. Blake may not have ever even returned to her friends and her family might have died if he wasn't there. Honestly, it's the only argument those who adamantly hate blacksun think they have... but it's sure as hell a weak ass argument. Now, please note: People can have their ships. You can enjoy bumblebee, illia/blake, blacksun, or even tauradonna (to be fair, it makes for one hell of a dramatic lovestory). But I think it's wrong to insult each other's ship. This one may be one of the closest to canon in the series but, nevertheless, remember to be kind and respect everyone else's ship. Tearing down other ships and those kinds of things in a fandom is how it gets toxic.

There’s actually a perfect reason for everything Sun did here. Why did he follow her? Because Sun is worried that Blake will go fight the white fang by herself and get hurt. Why did he kept his presence a secret? Because Sun knows that Blake needs space after seeing her ex-boyfriend leading a freedom rights organization that she was a part of to perform acts of terrorism, cutting off her friend’s arm in the process. Why did he kept following her even after he found out that she wasn’t gonna go fight? Because Sun still suspected that the White Fang will go after her. And he was right!

Ren, Nora and Weiss took some pretty big strides forward as people plus we got to learn a little about Ren and Nora's past life (which makes going back to the first few Volumes and watching their moments together make a whole lot of sense) while Ruby, Yang and Jaune seemed to be struggling with their inner demons some kind of PTSD and all that.

Seeing this arc made me understand Blake a whole lot more than even previously. I would've thought slapping Sun would send her into unlikable territory, but if you look at her character growth across all 4 volumes, this last arc seems to come full circle as what will finally get her to stop running and answer Ooblecks question, "How?" In that respect, I wanted to give her a dope slap for her ignorance, but then give her a big hug because she really needed it. Also, Sun is both awesome, funny (the faces he makes when he sees Blake's house and Ghira questions him are hilarious) and shows his leader side. Shout out to Michael Jones and Arryn Zech for their acting. Mama and Papa Belladonna are great characters, too. They know how to help their child. Lastly, mad props to the animators, the expressive ears bring out so much!

As far as acting, I was referring to the end where he tells Blake straight that her friends will be there. So you know, Sun has been voiced by Michael Jones the whole time. He's famous for Achievement Hunter and is husband to Lindsay, who voices Ruby herself. I think his voice is still the same as it's been, but given that it has been four years, it might've evolved into a subtle difference than how it was originally. Compare Burnie Burns to how he was at the start of Red Vs Blue to how he is now with Taiyang for example. Thanks for the comment!

He has the same name as the Monkey King and is largely based off of the character, perhaps he's destined to fight Adam (RWBY's presumed version of The Demon Bull King) and take over The White Fang?........... I'd actually really like the thought of that, My personal prediction is that there will be fighting back and forth for a while, Ghira will die in the final or one of the final battles therefor leaving the position open, Sun will do something rather impressive and or develop strong leadership ability just from watching Ghira while he was alive and learning from him, and then take the position as High Leader once everything settles down near or close to the series finale, or whenever the ARC with The White Fang comes to a close as that could be long before the end of the ARC with Salem. I feel like it would be a nice payoff for Sun's current awkward and very volatile standing with Ghira, plus I'd just love that sweet sweet irony XD

I miss this ship so much. Blake x Yang literally came out of nowhere and was only created to please the fans. I loved RWBY in the beginning because the team were like sisters. Black Sun is great because of how their personalities seem the opposite but blend so well together at the same time, not to mention that their relationship is just straight up adorable. Rooster Teeth really threw away that perfectly good ship because of the fandom, and it's sad. I'm also sad that Yang seems so sad now. Bro helped her through depression and everything and then faught with her throughout her family drama even though racially it effects everyone . Sun then doesn't even shoot his shot and instead acts as a friend as he even implies that she needed a friend before anything more at that momment in one of the books . I think one of the CFVY ones . @stinks a lot so leaving a friend after a traumatic experience was the ok thing to do . If that was the case that means she stayed with sun for about two to three days rather than confront her team when figured out that she was a faunus and a former white fang member yet felt comfortable with him enough to open up to him , investigate and even fight along side him . He was just used to seeing Blake being the one to call her own shots and to strike back against the enemy as that's typical of Blake . Out of all the members of team rwby Blake has been worried and emphasized the dangers soon to come and how they need to strike first so if there would be any time to take revenge it'll be in S4 . Although that didn't happen she just wanted to see her family and relax ( understandable ) and Sun completely agree's yet acts as a guard to protect her knowing she's a big target and even emotionally vulnerable as seen in S4 . But also if he disrespected her privacy then that means Yang did aswell in S2 when Blake tried to isolate herself from everyone yet luckily Yang had fooled her and brought her to a quiet location and talked it out to an overworking Blake. This is nothing short but good friendship momments that can soon translate for chemistry in a ship . It's just that sun had did it more times on deeper levels , especially since he isn't even part of the team .

The thing is.Blake and yang don’t really have that much history together.all they did was hold hands and dance over 2 chapters. But then Blake and sun have more chemistry together and it’s more of a stable ship. Well, I wouldn’t say that. Blake senselessly tried herself out when she founded out that the White Fang worked for Roman Torchwick. Yang was the one that convinced her that it’s not her fault and that she should take a break. And then there’s the Adam fight, Blake was helpless until Yang arrived. However, I still think that Black Sun was better developed and had better chemistry. P.S TO HELL WITH WHITE ROSE! NUTS AND DOLTS FOR LIFE! Although what would be nice is that Ruby falls in love with a wolf faunus. Very poetic if the Big Bad Wolf wanted to protect the Little Red Riding Hood instead of gobbling her up.

God Blake is such an awful character. Sun sees Blake run off and keeps an eye on her out of concern, and when he leaps to her aid, she has the gall to demand to know what is he doing? Like idk, maybe fight off the Grimm trying to kill you? She drops him and tells him to just shut up and fight, and then slaps him afterward. She gets mad at Sun for thinking she’s not a coward, and keeps going back and forth from not fighting the white fang to saying she’s “not done fighting.” She has loving parents and a team of friends she abandoned but claims to be “alone” in her own way. No, she isn’t alone in anyway, she’s just a shitty daughter and friend.

A little weird thing I noticed is that Blake voice has changed or more her manner of speaking. In the beginning, she was a girl of a few words. You know rarely says anything but when she does, it is on point. But in later seasons, she got that annoying tendency to drag out the sound of her voice. Makes her sound kind of hysterical. Not a change I like. Or is it just my imagination?

Although, the original monkey king’s staff can change sizes and was ridiculously heavy. Sun’s staff can’t do that, but still gun-chucks are awesome. And his other staff can certainly change size if you know what I mean, Bow-Chicka-Bow-Wow (I think I watched to much Red vs Blue now.)

Eric Leung yeah he’s totally a reference to Sun Wukong. That character is incredibly influential in pop culture and the media. Of course, there’s Sun in RWBY. In the game AFK Arena they have a hero based on him, who looks like him, and whose attacks feature the signature staff, the clones, and the thundercloud. And the webtoon God of Highschool, *spoiler alert* has the main character who is EXACTLY Sun Wukong. He is canonically portrayed to be the reincarnation of the monkey king, and the story is heavily related to it.
