He was also supposed to participate in Operation Pillock in 1943 which was to be an mission to bomb the Nurburgring race track but the mission was cancelled and he instead participated in Operation Orangutan Freedom alongside the Duke of Hammond which was the mission to assassinate Luftwaffe commander Generalfeldmarschall Hermann von Clarkson during the North Africa Campaign. He was also awarded the Victoria Cross on VE Day. After the war, Commander May signed up for MI6 to infiltrate the People's Republic of South Yorkshire and also participated in MI6's most successful infiltration mission, Operation Piano which our hero used to put a end to the Morris Marina menace during the Cold War. Commander May officially retired from military service in 2002 after his last mission somewhere in France and continued his lifelong passion as an car enthusiast on May 11, 2003. Today, his heroism is still acknowledged by many and are thankful for his years of service.
