@@h.j.b3705 Don't the dots connect automatically? People who care about details and quality of cars also care about details and quality of food. Seems like a natural fit to me. Much like the 'half a pub' thing. James is a man who wants things to be 'right' whether in a car, a pub, or on a plate, and I suspect in lots of other areas of life.

I had never heard of Branston Pickle till the cheese sandwich episode. I ordered some out of curiosity. I went through the first bottle in about 2 weeks, and am now working on the second bottle. Thanks for the advice, James!

I've had Branston Pickle since the 50s but my favourite way is to have it with grilled lamb chops & chips(that's English chips, not crisps) and loads of Branston Pickle. Our Saturday night favourite meal.

Just tried Branston Pickle for the first time today. Not something that is available in regular stores over here, but ordered it from a company that imports foodstuff from the UK and US. Had it on a cheese sandwich. I like it.

It's not easy getting Branston in California, and when you do, it costs an arm and a leg, which detracts from the enjoyment of it. So I'd love to have Rachael's recipe...I'd even buy the recipe!

I’m in southern Ontario, and right next door to where I live is an Italian grocery store that imports foods from Europe, including British cheeses, Branson, and various other products. They charge $8 Canadian for a smaller jar than what was used in this video. For a 250 g block of British cheese they charge around the same price or more.

In Latvia there was a period where country people made pickles at home because stores had nothing to offer. To this day a lot of people make them at home. Not every recipe is the same, but most of them taste awesome, so I would say that making things like these at home is a valuable skill. So even if it does not taste like from the store, thumbs up for the skill. Do not have anything like that here, because it sounds like the recipe comes from India or something, but we do have variations, not just whole marinated pickles, sounds like the thing we call here ''Man's Jam''.
