This band have never become mediocre. Their latest music is genius and beautiful. I’m so lucky to have grown up with this bands great music as a soundtrack. This song is lyrically poetic and musically stirs my heart and moves to the rhythm of it. Fantastic, there are few bands that can keep up such fantastic releases. Bowie was one of them, the Manic Street Preachers is another and Motörhead is one more. There are others but they are rare.

Such a truly great band. They have the power to capture deep emotions so well in their songs. I remember when Sit Down came out I happened to hear it on the radio four days into a five day marathon on speed. I was emotionally raw and quite naive to amphetamines, I didn’t know how to just put it down. That song genuinely helped me at a point of complete despair. The lyrics meant so much to me. I immediately sat down on the couch in my bedroom and began to cry hot salty tears. They just fell from my eyes with no sound. James rescued me. I called my girlfriend and told her what I’d done and she came and stayed with me until I eventually fell asleep the next day. She left a bunch of easy to eat food by my bed when she left. I needed it because I hadn’t eaten in days and had expended loads of energy. Every human being I’ve had a love affair with has either already been a fan of James or has become a fan because I play their stuff all the time. I love this song and the video brings little tears to the corner of my eye, it’s so beautiful. James are my life’s version of the Beatles. They can’t write a bad song and have only got better with age unlike the Beatles who split up because of the clash of massive egos. They know who I am, they’re used to seeing me on the front row of their gigs.

I’m ashamed to admit that my knowledge of James is completely limited to tv adverts. A few years ago I saw an advert and loved the music so much that I went into my local HMV and asked them what the music was for a particular advert and it turned out to be “She’s A Star”. So I bought Whiplash, listened to it a few times and then forgot about it. Several years later I saw an advert for the national lottery, thought the music was amazing, had a kind of “epic” quality about it and I wanted to know who it was by. I assumed it would be some new trendy group that I hadn’t heard of, so when I discovered it was James I was pleasantly surprised because at least it was someone I’d heard of. Watched the video on KZbin loads of times and totally blown away. Brilliant song, brilliant video. Not surprised it was shot in Ireland…only they can do that kind of rugged beauty. I might be wrong but I think the tv head was a male who they switched for the last scenes. Absolutely love the lead actress, interesting combination of fit /lesbo/chav, she would be brilliant in one of the lead soaps. If you like emotive videos check out the crow, the owl and the dove by Nightwish.

Monika Mylonopoyloy Hi Monika. Sorry for not getting back to you earlier. Now, where to start: very early stuff is raw/university angst stuff- try Johnny Yen. After very late 80's when band was enhanced by new drummer, keyboards and violin/guitar, they made Whiplash- try Laid. Later on added trumpet and then change of lead guitar (I prefer cellist/guitar Adrian, but it's a toss up really)- She's a Star. Millionaires is FULL of instant classics. Night Before/ Morning After is very good, but underrated. Heck - this just goes on...We all love Sit Down!! But, Monika remember they are at their best when LIVE. So check 'em out! I'm resident in Cyprus and recently went to Athens to watch 'em.....
