Love these two. Adore them. Amazing interview that allayed some of my fears of the Right’s immature rhetoric winning through but I fear not enough. Farrage has so much to answer for and should be held accountable for his dog whistling rhetoric that is tantamount to actual excitement. There will be an awakening for the Right if the silent and patient Left pushes back with enough conviction and courage we all know they have.

Yes. Melanie Klein posited a 'depressive' state of mind where two opposing positions can co-exist. This contributes to the child realising that their parent is a whole person, rather than a paranoid-schizoid split personality ( a VERY simple summary here). Yes indeed, Jon can hold contradictory positions, as I'm sure both you and I can. No blame.

Britain is 100% divided in many areas. Unfortunately you have a section on the left who's so out of touch with reality and the damage uncontrolled immigration has had in many working class areas, which sections on the right will exploit it for political gains. There's three reasons why the right is rising all over Europe and will gain traction in Britain, immigration, net zero and wokeness. Until someone on the left has the nuts to set net migration at a strict 10,000 per year, understand that net zero needs to go and drill/frack for gas and build mini nuclear reactors en masse from profits, to get energy cheap (cheap energy means a booming or growing economy) and then deals with out of control wokeness the right will sweep up votes. I quote the fellowing ''The UK has experienced deindustrialization to a greater degree than most other advanced economies, and the decline in manufacturing." until we address that and start with cheap energy, things are going to get more divided. I read if you take out London wealth, per capita GDP of the rest of the UK is lower than Mississippi, absolute disgrace.

@@grief1 We need immigration. We have since WW2. Some many not like it, but its needed,
@karmaascendant3936Ай бұрын
People are going to run to the right that’s run this country into the ground for the last 14 years? We had nuclear power planned, the Conservatives banned it, we had many nationalised industries from rail to water and the conservatives sold those, we used to have major social housing stock but the Conservatives sold those. Having such hard,arbitrary and low limits on migration will further curtail growth especially when certain industries will need far more people than that but I don’t disagree that there should be limits on migration. Green energy sources are cheaper for the UK than fossil fuels because we have more wind availability than anything else. We’ve sold the North Sea oil fields to multinational corporations and there isn’t enough there to shift oil prices. We should be focusing on insulating homes and upgrading boilers and heat pumps to increase efficiency on the user end along with increasing energy output through our cheapest sources(green) and the reliable (nuclear). We should also disconnect the energy prices from oil and gas and let people who are using green energy rightfully reap the benefits of their cheaper and more local energy sources.
@johnrussell3961Ай бұрын
@@grief1 . Once the boomers are gone, we need less tax to fund the welfare system, and a smaller economy will suffice . An economy based purely on our native work force. But until then , we need immigrants to make things work .
@henresearchАй бұрын
@@grief1Immigrants are "born" young so you USE them from day one. Any government that attempts to limit net migration to 100,000 would wreck the UK. Deal with it.
