Olivia in the backing vocals too. Awesome song. Always loved the line: “you never know what you do to me, so sublime. You’re like the devil in heaven, every time”

World class pop music. James should have been an international star. Where do you hear quality like this, these days?

I sat next to James at the bar at the Chevron in the 80s and thought nothing of him...now in my 50's I think 'what a hunk'... missed opportunity!!

Caz Oz Yes, it sure was lol. But really, think about it, would u have wanted to be a part of his crew back in the 80's when he was at the peak of his smack addiction?. Ive been to his rented house in the 80's. All im sayin is, i feel every word as ive lived it. Not a good time in my life. Today, im healthy and thank god i didnt die, or worse.. catch any dreadful disease!!

Growing up in Sydney. I would have said he was the bloke I would most like to look like and be doing as a profession. He was also great in his acting in 'Return to Eden'. The song 'Reckless' is a truly haunting Australian classic. If I'm homesick, working in London, I play a track or two from his days in Australia Crawl or from his solo recordings like the above and 'Fall if Rome'.

The line "Some silken slip of evil" sounds more like "Some soup gets left by the weevil" lol.

The song is about heroin. It's a really good song when you pay attention to the lyrics and if you can understand his mumbling.. He's singing to the drug itself "you don't know what you do to me 5 times a day" " you;re like the devil in heaven"...."take my friends take my sex take my lover, let's go to waste. The best song of James Reyne in my opinion.

I have his 1st couple albums after James left Aussie Crawl. And every song had a huge influence regarding drugs. Still one of the most talented Singers I've had the honour to see in concert.

Richard Wyndham very good with lyrics but have you lived the lyrics like I have, that was in the 80s I'm totally over it now but when I hear this song it takes me right back to that treacherous time in my life

I just looked this “James Reyne” name up because he played a character it seems in the Tina Turner movie “What’s love got to do with it”; where he played Tina’s manager.
