I still cannot comprehend how epic he is. You just become absorbed into what he's saying and just forget everything else. That's a great actor you fully believe everything they're saying and more.

I think James Shader and Kevin Spacey are legendary and they did not have enough chance. Also House of Cards was another epic and I can see that these 2 characters only if they could have swapped the series every one would have performed perfectly good

“Have you ever sailed across an ocean, Donald? On a sailboat surrounded by sea with no land in sight, without even the possibility of sighting land for days to come? To stand at the helm of your destiny? I want that one more time. I want to be in the Piazza del Campo in Siena, to feel the surge as ten racehorses go thundering by. I want another meal in Paris at L’Ambroisie in the place des Vosges. I want another bottle of wine and then another. I want the warmth of a woman in the cool set of sheets. One more night of jazz at the Vanguard. I want to stand on summits and smoke Cubans and feel the sun on my face for as long as I can. Walk on the Wall again. Climb the Tower. Ride the River. Stare at the frescos. I want to sit in the garden and read one more good book. Most of all I want to sleep. I want to sleep like I slept when I was a boy. Give me that. Just one time. Absolutely incredible. Yesterday in London I was lucky enough to be at a special screening of 'The Blacklist' and there was a Q&A session with James Spader who was there (!) and I asked him a question about this amazing scene. Basically it was originally very different and went through several re-writes. I asked if he contributed any of the things Red lists because I thought like some of them sounded as if he did and he replied "All I'll say is that where I live in New York is 10 minutes away from the Vanguard. And that L'Ambroisie in Paris is an incredible restaurant" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I listened to him talk for about an hour and it was amazing - he's an absolute legend and such a warm, intelligent, articulate, honest, funny man. Still pretty overwhelmed by it all....!!!

Very moving, one of the best acting scenes ever done by James Spader. Having watched interviews of Spader, I fully believe he aided the writers in writing this deeply emotional speech. That voice, the cadence, the timing of taking a breath. The beauty you can see as he speaks of each wish. That’s what James Spader can do. That’s what he DOES! This show wouldn’t have been what it was, and wouldn’t have lasted 10 seasons if any other actor had taken the role of Raymond Reddington. If they couldn’t get James interested in doing the show they weren’t even going to attempt to write and produce THE BLACKLIST. It wouldn’t have been perfect, and it had to be perfect. It was.

Sorry.. maybe that was bit harsh and presumptuous toward you.. But this behavior here on this page over TV and Hollyweird acting is truly disgusting. Its pathetic. Seriously sad man. Men are so far behind due to watching TV and getting emotional over it. Effeminizing. Brainwashed.. Programming. Not healthy. UN-healthy. Another word for 'acting' is LYING. Actors are just good liars. Get over it.. Go read Ecclesiastes if you want some of the best wisdom ever written. King Solomon was a genius. Ecclesiastics and Proverbs.. anything in them 2 books. Amazing life wisdom. Work your priority out man. Dont drink baby bottle milk all your life.. learn how to chew on bone and gristle. Milk is for babies.. the meat is for adults. TV has no nourishment ya goose. Its not even milk. Its degenerating. Turn it OFF ffs. Life is too short.

So I ( having to tv or cable) have not watched this show. Only saw the first three episodes. I do love how ever, that as this seemingly young man is dying ( youth being "everlasting", " never ending", "infinite") is listening to this much older man talk about all the things he has done with his life and what he misses. Normally it would be the other way around. Where the old man is dying and in his last moments talks about what he wants to do one last time. Possibly the younger man is listen or helping him reminisce. I just like to notice some things out of context. For all I know this is a dream sequence hahaha.
