No one can stay at the top forever. Stewie on a 125 was perhaps the most amazing rider ever. Ask a former pro who was racing 250cc in 2002-2004. The premier class 250 guys would go out of their way to watch the 125 motos/heats...just to see what Stewie would/could do. He changed the way people rode... Cant ever change that....

James was doin stuff on a 125 that guys on a 250 wouldn't even dream of, both indoors and outdoors! He took the sport to new levels, just didn't have the consistency of Ricky or Chad.

Stewart was doing stuff on a 125 that no one else could do but he just couldn’t do that on a 450. He could have competed with the 450’s on a 125 but all he did when he moved up was hurt himself, he just couldn’t handle the power and speed he got from a bigger bike

dmenace you are a joke. RC killed stewart this year outdoors, and the year before, and the year before that. RC is not on a cheater bike, almost all of the bikes run the same fuel, so your boy bubba was probably running the same fuel. RC has nothing left to prove, MX is a tiring sport, so he feels its time to tame it down.

Yes, he's fast and Yes he can win a race... But can he win a Championship.... Hummm I don't think so not yet anyway. Plus you have Bubba and Ryan in good physical condition and they've already demonstrated a positive discipline to win a championship. It's either Babba or Ryan ... Sorry.

Carmichael, Jeff Stanton, Jeremy Mcgrath, and other former championship riders were on this panel of experts riders and they made a prediction that Ryan Dungy was the man to beat in 2011. Bubba Stewart in my opinion has the most talent of the current batch of Motocrossers. If his conditioning is there.... Ryan is going down. Sorry Ryan... your a nice guy and a great talent.. but Bubba has been competing with the very best a long time and he's still a young man. LOOK OUT.

@dmenace259 JS is an exciting racer, but the races have been pretty exciting, even though the action has been the fights for 2nd, 3rd, & 4th. Alessi getting the holeshot consistently on the 350 shows that maybe 250 two strokes can make a comeback, since the AMA won't change the handicapped rules. Total BS. This weekend, Mike Leveait (sp) will attempt to qualify in a new 200:1 mix ration two stroke Yamaha YZ250. That's what I'll be looking for.
@ccoady750
@ccoady750 14 жыл бұрын
@dmenace259 RC went out on top. JS has no drive anymore. He's a quitter and will continue to injur himself because he takes too many risks. JS takes a LOTof risks. That's why he WAS faster in a few races, but still got beat by RC, but RC definitely was and is the better racer. JS is one wreck away from ending his career, not just his season. RC could have been even faster at the expense of riding carelessly, and at his point in his career, he had nothing left to prove. RC>JS

@dmenace259 I looked up your profile. I see why you like Stuart, because your African American and you can relate to him, thats fine. Just get the facts straight. I believe Bubba is a faster rider or atleast now. With his technique(scrubs) but he rides over his head causing him to be out with injury alot and misses out on Championships. Reed's won a SX and MX since RC has been gone. Stuart could of easily won them both if he wasn't injured.
@puremutt
@puremutt 15 жыл бұрын
Eeeasy boy. My point was not to tick off all the Bubba worshippers out there. My point was that he coulda/shoulda won several championships that he didn't because of riding over his head and crashing and, consequently, injuring himself for the season. Accidents do happen to everyone but he's had more spills than most. Factory teams don't like losing championships year after year while shelling out 5million/yr. on their star rider.
@puremutt
@puremutt 15 жыл бұрын
Stick around racing long enough and you'll see that being the fastest doesn't mean the best. Stewart is usually the fastest but against Ricky Carmichael he was rarely the best. His strongpoint is ironically his weakness: he always rides a little "over his head". He usually either wins or wrecks. I'm sure that's why Kawasaki dropped him--he kept screwing up the championships with stupid riding.

These guys aren't robots. Human error is a big thing when it comes to the holeshot, reaction time, and doing it right are what make it happen. Some people are naturally better, alessi is a holeshot machine, but, he can't hang with stewart the whole way threw a race. RC 85% of the time had a good start, somewhere in the top 7 usually, that was just good tech and being able to implement it time and again. Go talk to a drag racer and i imagine they'll tell a similair story. Do u actually ride?

@dmenace259 Yeah, but reailty TV shows, and endorsements don't make you the greatest of all time. Consistency, overall wins and shampionships do. He'll have a career ending injury or the next phenom will force him to retire early.

Oh your right Carmichael cheated his way to 10 outdoor championships and five sx titles. no, he was just way faster and just owned him every race. im a huge bubba fan and loved seeing him punk the shit out of reed. loved it, but bubba teasing reed and showing him who was faster in a 125cc national is not bigger than being the greatest rider in the history of the sport....... was it cool as shit? ya. did I love seeing it? ya. was this bigger than anything RICKY CARMICHAEL EVER DID? ridiculously no.

Don't get mad. Ha! I think Ricky Carmichael has a lot more respect for James Stewart than you do. Later.

Carmichael quit half way thru the 07 MX series with a hefty points lead. Your statement might make sense if it wasn't wrong.

This was the most KICK ASS Move in the history of the sport. AWESOME James!!! It's only cool to be cockey when you can back it up, Stewart is the only one that can back it up. AWESOME!!

Pretty well I would say... One of only 2 men in the history of the sport to have a perfect 24-0 season, 3 premier class SX titles, pretty well, I would say.
