@@UltimateTViptv That’s not a valid point, at the end of the day who got the win? At the end of the day who walked away with their mental faculties and speech? Well in a few year Toney will not be able to talk at all. He's almost there. I think he took most of his punishment early in his career before mastering the roll. He said they use to put him in the ring sparring anybody no matter how much better they were. He learned the hard way. Definitely one of the best but even the Hitman Hearns is having trouble speaking these days. Floyd, Leonard etc can still speak clearly and they were the best at hitting and not getting hit so to all the young fighters out there take heed. Boxing is a tough profession. So if you go down that path it is best to follow Floyd's lead and focus on superior defensive skills and avoid taking too much punishment. That brain can only bang into that skull wall so many times before unrecoverable damage is done.

I know right, even b-hop be sounding punchy lately. I’m not sad for him though. I look at punchy boxers the same way I look at MMA fighters with cauliflower ear. You knew it could happen, and you still chose to do it. That’s balls.

James Toney is what he talking bout.(PERIOD)💯💯💯 EVERY BODY CAN LOOK@ ALL MR. JAMES TONY FIGHTS, WHETHER HE WON OR DIDN'T 💯💯💯 JAMES TONY DID IT BETTER THEN ANYONE, AS FAR AS WHATEVER WEIGHT CLASS WITH WHOEVER/ AND HE IS DEFINITELY UNDERRATED 😇😇😇👍👍👍💯💯💯
@musicmediaproductions2 жыл бұрын
Most Won't understand That Toney was a beast in the lighter days of his boxing career! His shell defense was better than Floyd's when Toney was younger and lighter! As Toney aged and he also kept moving up in weight and he took more punishment than floyd! The shell defense was great when he was younger and lighter but when he went up in weight Toney didnt have agility as he did when he was younger and in a lighter weight class! This it self hurt him big because he was taking heavier punches and started taking more damage because he just couldn't move like he use to! So this is why most will scream Floyd shell defense was better! lol Honestly, Both shell defesne was remarkable and Toney's shell was more offense and counter!! While Floyd's, at his beginning of his career was offensive and countering but ended up turning into more defense in his middle and prime of his career ! His offensive was more dictated on what was coming at him, however a younger floyd shell was just as amazing as Toney's because he was very offesnsive and exsplosive with it! Respect to both! Great video and have a great day!

I love JT, but let's face facts. He took more punishment in his first title fight than Mayweather took in any five-year stretch of his career! JT didn't just start getting hit at the higher weights!
@htmm51672 жыл бұрын
It's too different forms of defensive. And no it wasn't superior, as nobody as been able to penetrate flyods defence. Tony's is more pleasing to watch and masterful. But let's not discredit flyod who was a master of a different form of the shoulder defence which is more of a stance used to load up his right while practically being untouchable.
@musicmediaproductions2 жыл бұрын
@@VIProfessor Yeah so true!! That first title fight took a lot from him! JT had that drunk master shell style defense! JT also missed wieght for that title fight as well, he was a fat boy and always had trouble making weight in his prime and out of his prime! He said it once in a post interview saying he just loves to eat!! lol While flody could drink soda and eat McDonald's and still couldnt gain weihght lol Another great factor. as well. JT was a party animal and didnt stay inshape between fights unlike Floyd Both great era in boxing history!
@musicmediaproductions2 жыл бұрын
@@htmm5167 Credit to both and the era they displayed their greatness in! Another aspect that most never understood was Floyd's discipline in and out of the ring between fights and after! Not only he took less punishment in the ring, Floyd also took less punishment outside the ring!! By staying in shape between fights and not polluting his body when celebrating! This was a huge variable that played in Floyd's career! While other was smoking and sniffing and drinking Flody was in the gym at 2am, 3am or doing road work! just honored to have witness both great boxers!! Just like we got to see Jordan in the NBA! We got to witness greatness before photoshop, vid edits and email champions! lol
@VIProfessor2 жыл бұрын
@@musicmediaproductions No doubt that conditioning (or lack thereof) was a HUGE factor! There were too many times when JT just didn't have the legs to go with his upper body movement, and too many times when he allowed inferior opponents to have opportunities that they shouldn't have had. Often, his lack of stamina would only allow him to fight in spurts, and he would have to rest on the ropes.

Even though the 2022 version has had years of study and better resources to be built better to work more efficiently at higher speeds and different terrains. George Benton fought in an era where everyone was mostly a flat footed slugger, with simple ring IQ. Even low IQ. Comparing his shoulder roll to James Tony or Mayweather’s is just idiotic. Just taking a look at both their careers, it’s obvious Mayweather had the better shoulder roll and overall defense. Tony got hit way too much compared to Floyd. When Floyd stood in the pocket or against the ropes, you couldn’t really hit him. Tony would still get hit.
