Worthy is one of my favorites to watch. He was fast, strong and skilled. In his retirement, he is an interesting interview, with just the right amount of swag, and humility, at the same time. He seems very genuine.

Always liked his game. When he had the ball and made his move, you almost always said, there's 2 points! Unstoppable!

I used to copy Worthy's moves especially his post and face up moves until my coach told me to just stop it because I was a shooting guard and was too short for those kinda moves. That's how much I idolized this man.

Mr. Worthy was a tremendous player on those Laker teams without him the championships would have been less than 5 in the 80s.

Kareem was going to get his, pretty much. Magic was going to do his thing. Scott and Cooper were going to hit a few threes. If Worthy was having one of his games, it was going to be a long night for the Celtics.

Worthy is in my top 5 hands down as a Forward, even ahead of one of my favorites, Chuck. As my Pops used to say when they would feed him the rock in the post: "Call the Priest!". Couldn't be stopped...Period.

Hi Vinny. The Lakers were a bit spoiled in those days I'd say. Worthy was awesome. Hailed in his day and rightly so, Worthy was so smooth and deadly. Fit the Lakers perfectly. And a gentleman.

I still can see in my mind the Worthy quick step glide along the baseline and flying dunk. Some things are just perfect and deserve 10s. that was Worthy taking it to the hoop. The original "glide".

In this era of basketball, you had to be ready to put that work in. Doing your business in the paint was brutal. When I think about tough power forwards I think about the '80s and the 90s.

Remember Worthy at UNC as a freshman......solid player, but had a plate on his leg from a bone fracture. Came out his sophomore season, plate had been removed over the summer.....and WOW !! When you watched him now, it seemed like he had never jumped at all during his freshman year .With his back to the basket on the baseline , his 180 turnaround dunk had to be seen to be believed. LOVED when he led a fast break direct to the basket, then turned parallel to backboard on his last step and SWOOPED over the defender until he was eye level and sideways to the rim, and did a one-handed dunk in passing with arm fully extended. IF only Worthy had stayed one more year at UNC to play as a senior with Sam Perkins as junior and MJ as a sophomore.......!!!!!!

Worthy was a great player, usually unjustly overlooked in the discussion about great forwards, maybe being the only one on that Laker team that I didn't really like. In his first few years, before he had an injury, he made Bird look sick, simply by being too quick for Bird to bother him. Worthy also was in the news a few times for being busted driving with marijuana and prostitutes, only making him cooler, proving himself to be normal. Who is the guy interviewing him?
