Abusers break their victims to a point where they go crazy. Then they sit back and say “poor me, look at this crazy woman I’m having to deal with”. I saw it all with my sister and her ex. What was scary was how composed and plausible he always remained. We used to say we’d even believe him if we didn’t know what was really going on behind closed doors, he was that believable. Apologies for the long comment but you might find this interesting. Johnny Depp was already found guilty of domestic abuse toward Amber years before that trial. That trial was because Amber spoke about Johnny in an anonymous article which he claimed was affecting his career so took her to court over the article. When she was found guilty, it was guilty of spreading damaging information about him publicly (regardless of it being true) the verdict was nothing to do with whether he was an absuer or not as that had already been legally sorted. Abusive partners cannot stand not having control or communication with their victims, they thrive on witnessing their lives to go to ruins, especially after leaving them, they want to punish them. So Johnny spent millions on taking Amber to court for any reason they could find and it worked. She got slated. There’s a documentary in the making on how Johnny, his management, PR team and lawyers spent millions on new technology methods that uses bots (fake social media profiles) to bend the narrative online. Having thousands of bots slate Amber across all social media platforms convinces others (the real profiles, people like us) to think the same. You know, conformism. They manipulated the public into having certain views and opinions on Amber and Johnny. It’s a very interesting tactic hence there’s a documentary being made about it. Please do your research before making such statements. If you didn’t care enough about either Amber, Johnny or the trial to understand what the trial was about, you shouldn’t have such strong concrete opinions. It takes 10minutes to read an article on a trial, rather than spending hours flicking through KZbin and TikTok being fed memes and comments by bots, making you think the trial was about a guilty or non guilty verdict over abuse, when it wasn’t that at all. You’ve literally been a victim of the online bots tactic. In future, if you come across a situation where you’re forming an opinion over someone online, please READ about it rather than view it on social media. I cannot stress enough how important qualified, respected journalist are that can give you more legitimate information in a few paragraphs than a million TikTok videos ever will. I was one of the viewers that commented negatively before viewing based on media coverage and interviews with Mel talking about the years of abuse. Watching this now, I have to say that (based on the no charges and gaining child custody) I believe what he says. They are both very strong personalities so I don't doubt that they clashed at times but if things were as bad as Mel alledeges he would have been prosecuted and there would have been some evidence. I have been an abused woman for a period of 4-5 years, I didn't go to the police, I never sought medical help.. I escaped! What I did do was fight tooth and nail for my child and my child's safety. There is no fear, coercive control, psychological abuse ( which for me was worse than the beatings because it lasts forever. Or said beatings that would stop me from protecting my child from the abuser, father or not! I Would rather be dead than live with the knowledge that my child was living with such a person.

I deleted my last comment cos I genuinely dont believe some women can handle harsh opinions. I was in an abusive relationship for yrs Mel B in my opinion is a liar. Can i just say this guy has to be careful at this point what he says because he's got a court case against her pending. If I am wrong about her i will be the first to say how genuinely sorry I am. But if he wins his court case she needs to apologise publicly to the women who have been and still are struggling with DV. BTW DV is not a male exclusive crime, women are also very capable of being abusive in many different ways.
