Congratulations on some of your recent catches of perch and chub from the Upper Thames. I do have some issues though. I don't like the current trend with KZbinrs guessimating their fish: either weigh the fish or just say it's a decent fish and put it back (though I'd be more pleased if I knew what the weight was). I do find irresponsible to lure fish the Thames without a wire trace. It's not the greatest message to send young or beginner lure anglers. I know from experience pike can bite through even the thickest fluorocarbon trace. Third, fishing from bridges I find irresponsible (a folly - sorry for the pun) too. It's mainly the safety aspect I'm worried about. Again, I'm thinking of young anglers.

I agree! In fact I was under the impression (was told this by a bailiff) that it's actually illegal to fish from bridges due to safety issues of both the angler and the fish.

Nice fish, great fishing. My favourite fishing is for big redfin and carp on soft plastic lures. Here in Australia, both are considered pests, and most do not return then to the water.I however, just put them back for another day :)

Loving the content man, wondered if you could offer a bit of mainline choice advice! Last few sessions iv experienced some huge hits through the rod and by the time iv realised and struck into the fish it has already gone, I'm using a super sensitive tsurinoya pro flex 2 rod but straight through braid with a short fluorocarbon section? do you think fishing fluorocarbon straight through will offer a little more give in the setup? be interested to hear what you think. thank you
