Yeah, I personally love the instrumental bit that he referenced to build a b*tch’s “lalala” bit and adding sub urban just gave it that eerie vibe? Idk I agree with there could have been more verses instead of adding the chorus a lot of times but besides that it’s such an amazing song and I prefer it over build a b bc I love the vibe to inferno and the eerie fancy vibe ahah

The elevator scenes are inspired by Dante’s inferno. Also, this video is a vent piece for Bella. She was sexually assaulted in a similar scenario, but in the video she says this is how it would have turned out if she was in control/ had the ability to fight back. I don't think that's the meaning behind the line. It's more like Suburban is talking about lust, you think you're getting butterflies, but it's something we should run away from because it's a sin (based on Dante's inferno). Lust also drive many men into commiting sins like sexual assault because it's kinda fun for them.

I have listened to her songs but i dont think id listen to it a second time. Its good and theres so many creators in the video, its cool to watch and go i know them from this. It does seem like they didnt tell tommy what he was reacting to. She is clearly talented and singing songs personal to her, i think thats a good thing. The music video is really good. #burritosupremacy STEAMPUNK AND POP PUNK NEVER EVER WENT OUT OF STYLE!!!!

this song came up in my spotify weekly mix and i had no idea it was bella poarch before iI checked my phone to see the song, it was really good actually and made me wonder whether my developed bias against creator music makes me miss out on other quality songs. i definitely agree that there are elements in common with build a bitch, like the distorted kids’ voices, but i like her pairing with sub urban way more in this song since i think all these elements fit so well with the style. anyway this song actually really slaps and i like it

the way the music video overshadowed the music and lyrics reminds me of god is a women by ariana grande. the music video makes it look like it’s a revolutionary feminist manifesto but the lyrics are basically “i fuck so good i must be god”

bella poarch reminds me so much of melanie martinez; childlike “lalalas” in the music and other lullaby/singsong aspects, emphasis on visual imagery and storytelling as an accompaniment to the music, covering serious and pressing topics in a bubblegum and catchy way (like sa and societal expectations for women with bella and literally so many topics like eating disorders, celebrity spotlights, and political commentary for melanie) their music also sounds very similar (in a good way)
