It's a problem IN GENERAL!!! Whether I'm watching KZbin, TV, movies, whatever. There's no real standard for volume, so everything is haywire. If you take KZbin by itself, for instance, if you watch multiple videos, you'll instantly notice that all the different videos are at different volumes, sometimes within the same video, ESPECIALLY with video montages. Some clips will be MUCH louder/quieter than others, so it's difficult to deal with sound, even with great speakers!

Same here and I thought it was just me too. I’m thinking that whispering / soft talking is used more often in modern movies because they assume the higher quality audio and louder volumes for theaters. Seems like old school technique was to make sure actors said their lines loud enough to be picked up clearly, but now they just mumble under their breath the whole time in some movies. In those cases the only way I can hear dialog clearly without blasting my neighbors during action sequences is to just use headphones.

Watched this movie when I was about 10 or 11. Scared the ever loving piss out of me. Still, to this day, there's something about eyeless people that just makes me shudder.
@RyanAcidhedzMurphy6 жыл бұрын
From a psychological stand point, the human mind is used to the faces of other people being a certain way. It's the living thing we see most through our lives, right from birth. When they don't correspond to the automatic internal checklist that happens to establish what you're seeing is a face, it creates unease or outright fear. Similar principle to "the uncanny valley". Adding the fright, at a highly impressionable/developmental stage in life, from the movie and you have are having a correlative experience. Eyeless people take you back to that fear you felt as a child.
