Your brother, Gram sent me and probably many more. I find your art very intriguing 🤔. Love the glass work, especially the ones that are sitting outdoors and catch the first or last sun rays of the day. It seems to bring your work to life, and it seems to be on fire. TU for sharing part of your life with the rest of us. Henderson, Gordonville, TX.

Great video James. Very interesting to hear how you started down this road. I love the idea that you used to build dry stone walls and obviously use some of those techniques in your art. I’ve often thought that those walls, so skilfully constructed, were works of art in themselves. There is something so pleasing in your organic structures using such hard and resilient materials. If I win the lottery, I’ll definitely be commissioning a sculpture from you

I first started watching Scotland unplugged with your brother Robert Parker. That algorithm then put me on to Hoof GP with your brother Greame Parker. Of course he mentioned your KZbin channel. I tried looking up your channel but couldn't find it. Then today I watched the video you and Greame did together he just put on his channel. I looked you up again on KZbin and your channel popped up there. I've been enjoying your videos today. I'm subscribed to all three brothers channels. I absolutely love your sculptures! You do beautiful work. It was your brother who told us about you. (the hoof GP) I love his videos and I am looking forward to watching your videos, too. I am from a little bitty town named Freeville New York, United States. The only claim to fame our town has is that there is no other town in the world named Freeville, other than our little piece of heaven in Upstate NY. The region I live is also called Upstate, Finger Lakes region, Central New York and the largest town that is nearby is called Ithaca NY, it is the home of one of the Ivy League Universities called Cornell University, very famous school. This area is also known for some of the BEST wine, ever with loads of beautiful grape vinyards. We, of course, grow apples in NY state. (It is why New York City is called the Big Apple, because of all the apple orchards across the state (there is more to it, but it's about the apples) Anyway, enough about us. I am going to finish watching this video, then watch MORE of your stuff. I honestly do think your work is beautiful. Thank Graeme for the additional people coming to your channel! I came because of Graeme, however I plan on staying, yes subscribing, and watching, because the art is so beautiful. You 2 are very handsome young men! (I forgot to tell you not to worry, Graeme didn't send you a crazy stalker, I am a 62 yr young granny who has very eclectic interests.) Have a GREAT day, see you again, soon. Rosey from the USA

Arriving late to the party but enjoyed this video very much. Learning more about you and your work. Small world connecting Brian Alabaster. What a talented sculptor. Escape to the country introduced Rupert Till with his creations and Capel Tension had a brief clip. You should be next. Realizing you are drawn to geometric shapes, I still wonder if an Iris with curved leaves would be a consideration as a garden feature catching water from slate. The flower would make a nice place for bird's to rest and drink. Thank you for sharing..

Hi John. Thanks. Yes, I do have the slate original. The foundry have it just now for comparison when casting new bronzes.

Do you use any 3D design software to aid with your work?
@jamesparkersculpture4 жыл бұрын
Hi Ryan, No - I've never used anything like that. I wouldn't know where to begin to be honest. Usually just a pen and paper. Often I spend a lot of time thinking through the more complicated forms but I've never used 3d software of any sort.

James Parker Sculpture there are some tools that we use in the 3D modeling world that would totally apply to your workflow. Search KZbin for “rhino contour” if you want to see some examples of what I’m referencing.

When my father's legacy goes through probate in 4 months, I am definitely interested in commissioning you for a sculpture. Perhaps if we exchange emails, I can start having conversations with you about my ideas and possible costs.

Thanks Carole. You're welcome to email enquiries@jamesparkersculpture.co.uk should you like to discuss a commission.

Thanks Steven. I've not had any issues so far. Chicago hit down ti minus 43 degrees centigrade and my Apple there has been fine.

Hey James. Funny thin is; I’m originally from Chi-town! Lol! It gets super cold in Chicago no doubt! If your glass stands up to winter there it stands up anywhere! I hope your work could be displayed by one of the Picasso’s there. Chicagoans love and appreciate great art like yours. Congrats! 😎👍🏻

It seems that every art form has the same problem, whether it's writing or painting or sculpture... As a woodcarver some designs say no, and change the direction, despite my plans, just as a literary character cannot me made do setting contrary to their personality. That always amazes me.

I was wondering how long a cast of your sculpture last. Would you do unlimited or limited editions of your casts?
@jamesparkersculpture4 жыл бұрын
A cast in bronze would last thousands of years. I make limited editions. Something big would be a smaller addition than the smaller sculptures.
