That "Golden Dusk" round piece is like he took a Gustav Klimt painting and turned its soul into a glass sculpture. It's so beautiful.

Klimt gave the color, but the design was ripped from russian-jewish avangard, like "Beat the Whites with the Red Wedge" by El Lissitzky. You've seen his "brushes". With all respect to his beautiful works he is a craftsman with great will to do beatiful things, but never an artist.

My partner said "He makes art like an accountant and it works" and I think she's so right. He's basically making intricate 3D spreadsheets of glass, each cell with a different content and formatting. He has an office of data entry workers. He's a project manager of incredible sculpture.

Profound! Andrey I had not considered this yet I immediately recognised this as hitting the point. Thank you for this your insight. [ Ignore this further if you wish: I am a lawyer that has wasted my life. I should have been an artist. Words, light and so on. Over two decades I have saved, about 5 lives (in law). I could have achieved vastly more with words or sculpture (with wood) as an artist.]

It's not that many other people do not have the creativity to come up with gorgeous works like these. The problem is *all the machinery and facilities* that you need to have to be able to make these pieces. Just look at all those industrial diamond polishers and lathes. Unless you have a chance to work in a place like this, mo matter how many marvelous ideas you may have, they will never be realized.

The multi colored ones especially the large round one with the multi colored glass towards the center and the smaller colors floating around toward the edges are beyond words. Actually they are all beautiful and different in their own way. They definitely have an effect while watching them softly turn around.

And i say for Billie Hansen...For sure,my friend it's more really beautiful than any JEWELS in the world, absolutely. And I know the world of precious or fine stones, I collect minerals. Here we play in three dimensions and we cross the material through transparency and play of light that reflects, bounce, associate, diverge, cancel each other out, rebuild themselves, change in the very heart of this noble material that the artist has magnified with all his talent. An exhibition of these inspired and ingenious artists of glass or crystal would make any audience dream about the planet by offering them another dimension of this visual and conceptual art generated by the spectrum of decomposed light and the fascinating colors engendered which mesmerize our gaze. It is a drug for our eyes and our creative imagination in search of absolute. These works are of a timeless beauty and indisputable.Bravo for these great artists of our time and tomorrow.

I went there with my husband about 9 years ago.I visited the graves of all my relatives. I took a class at the Pittsburgh Glass Center. Went to Heinz to talk about giving them all the Speer, Morrow, Bissell artifacts I have from my father. I am an amateur glass fuser for many years, graduated from ceramics. . Rowena Proudlock- My thoughts exactly. I've thought about an engagement ring perhaps? These pieces are true works of magical art. As for the covetous few who have commented negatively, this sort of talent and creativity is provided by God. If it were not, it would be achievable by any average artist. Instead, it is an extremely select few who are able to stir the souls of others with their abilities.

It is important to note they both use a "cold form" technique whereas 99% of all other glassartists use a "hot form" technique. So it's rather strange to compare how they differ while they are two artists who both do something radically opposite compared to their fellow glass manipulators.
