I’m an entrepreneur myself James, and lived most of my youth in Braintree, it must be something in the water aye haha Essex creates incredible business minds I’m convinced, and as far as I’m concerned you’re an under rated national treasure, your future is bright and it’s a blessing to learn from you and for that I am very grateful, I’m going to make sure I come to your event next year for sure, and In the mean time I will focus on my interior design venture, lots to learn but I finally dove in and things are happening, found an architect who will help me with consulting on planning and advise me in areas where I might not have the full paperwork qualifications, but I’ve learnt that outsourcing can be a huge benefit if done right and if you find the right people, have a wonderful new year everyone ❤

It's the absolute worst when you meet people who are dishonest and predatory in business. I only operate my first very small business (a specialist graphic design service) but so many of my first customers were shady. It was bad enough with that small level of transaction, I can't imagine how stressful it is to have to take large scale legal action against a bad actor.

Excellent video.. the best time to grow a business is in a recession.. their are amazing deals to be done. Most companies get a “fire sale” mentality, and a great entrepreneur plucks the cherries from the flames.

What a brilliant video, well done. Very motivational. I can relate to the people holding you back, my dad tried putting me off getting my own pub years ago, when it was the best financial desision I ever made. Im now into by to let, A question for you: I have £100k equity which I am going to pull out. If i just buy a commercial unit then thats the end of my funds. However if I do some residential flips I can create chunks of money. I was thinking of getting to a position where I always have enough capital saved to do do the flips, and when i have enough left over capital to then invest in commercial property (30% deposit for example) Whats your views on this, or do you have any other easier option?

I wanted to buy a business, the monthly electricity is £600, as of April 2023 the bill will be £4,000. That's all the profit gone and maybe into loss. I don't know of a solution and so a good plan B hasn't materialised yet! If your costs increase by £40+k a year and you can't pass this to the customer, what do you do?

My advice is don’t buy businesses that are too small with too smaller revenue. Looks for 1m plus revenue businesses. These are usually more resilient, easier to run and have a team in place.
