These kind of videos are my favorite. When I was young and growing up in a Christian community, I heard a lot about Jesus but I never could get a good grasp on what he would have been like. The stories felt detached and strange. Listening to these videos help me now understand the kind of human that Jesus might have been. I can imagine the situations he might have been in and what it might have been like to follow Jesus. It's strange but I have more admiration for Jesus now that I don't believe he was supernatural.

I love these videos where it's just your voice reading from your books and lectures. Some of the videos with audiences are great too, but some of the interviews are frustrating because of the interruptions. I understand the excitement prompting it, but I want to hear the progression as you would choose to frame it.

Holy sh*t you literally read my mind. I watched the first 3 seasons a few weeks back and thought it had an interesting take on John the Baptizer which lead me to wonder what James Tabor would have to say about it. I’d love to hear a review from him and I think the fact that he used images from the show means he’s probably already watched it and has ideas in his head already. A review would be much appreciated and I hope he sees your comment.

Well, James, as usual, you've given me a headache; your insights are so directly contrary to what I've been taught - to whatever extent that's been. But I always end up, once the initial headache subsides, feeling much better off with having learned something of value, directly pertinent to my lifelong questions and searching while endeavouring to walk with God. Much gratitude.

Amidst all the contradictions in Scriptures, coupled with Jesus declaring at the Last Supper that one of his 12 was a devil, it is nearly impossible to piece together the real story. When I add in the errors of translations the migraines intensify. Then we have the devil in the details. The Gospel of John, for example, could have been dictated by Satan itself. John 3-17 is an abomination. This passage declares that God takes consorts, somewhat akin to Zeus's practices, and the Gospel follows with a notion that God makes sacrifices to mankind. I don't see that idea as validated anywhere in the Jesus story.

That could be. This is how I imagined Jesus's life as I Was told as I was young. I get the image of Jesus and a crowd deciding to take the road with him along the rivers. Water is important. The (first) Teacher was providing lessons his students had to apply, that was what Jesus and John the Baptiser done. They were there to show the way. The fact of end days, I think we are in today also, that apply about freedom of humanity, self enslaved to powerful dictators. There are Goods, but Goods don't understand the power of Multitude. Truth win win only when multitude will understand they are in front of the chaos. But the way is to be in God, being pure , purified from this enslaving, not participate in this naked world, and spray the good new that you can stand in the God Kingdom as this world is going to it's end. Certainly, Jesus, born without real father were very protected by His Mother, Mary, standing near him as he was Baptizing, and I think this was the light of Female Wisdom he had in particular, with the Way of God, tha made His proper teaching way more listenable to the Crowd, and Mothers in particular, understanding his language. Long after, Jesus teaching standed a inside cult, caves were often used by early christians, and in France we have a lot of very different Virgin Marie stories, that came with cave's Churches. In Copte regions as in actual Tunisia, Algeria, the destroyed churches show in their archeological artefacts, the particular place made for baptismal place, wich stands the foundation of Christianity.

I think that the reason we see so many conflicting statements in the gospels is that besides Jesus and John, every sect including the Essenes, Zelots and perhaps some Pharasees, are also setting up their revival tents, all claiming to be the Haisadin of 27AD. Anyone including a follower of a sect could get confused as to who said what much like listening to a day of christian radio.

I think it also helps to read the old testament and know it well. If you understand Torah and the prophets it helps to bring it all together. God doesn't change, Jesus didn't come to change God or His commandments. He came to walk it out, to bare witness to Gods truth and to make it honorable. He came to fullfill Gods Salvation. The Lamb of God who takes away the sin if the world.

I've heard interesting ideas from Jews who hold to the two Messiah view from scripture. One was Messiah Son of Joseph, who would be the first person to be raised from the dead by Messiah son of Judah. Something about his body not being buried. Which sounded similar to the two witnesses of Revelation. If we've all been here before, who were John and Jesus before? Judah and Joseph. Joshua and Caleb. Joshua and Zerrabubal. Then John and Jesus. Wouldn't you like to know who they are today? You can bet everything on it, John has already prepared the way in the wilderness. It's marvelous in YHVH's sight!

Jesus IS John. The old man has died the new man has arisen. John received his new name and was a exalted Phillipians 2:9-10. The editors of the gospels were blind guides and did not understand the allegory.

I've always been wildly entertained by John the Baptist! At some point I heard the passage of the rich man getting into heaven and the camel passing through the eye of the needle and thought Jesus was specifically referring to John as the camel. Probably because John is always described as wearing camel skin. Herod didn't execute John immediately and I think Herod might of had plans for John to marry a daughter or niece in his family. So the rich man is Herod, the camel is John and the eye of the needle was bringing John the Baptist into the folds of the Roman puppet government. Maybe?
@supernaturally255
@supernaturally255 Жыл бұрын
I think you are over complicating things. My personal understanding of the story of the rich young ruler is one of two possibles. It either refers to the fact that (those who store treasure in earth will not enter it the kingdom of God) we should all know by know the criteria’s explained by both Jesus and Paul to enter the kingdom of heaven. It was a criteria for the rich man to sell all his belongings because Jesus knew the man stored treasures on earth and not in heaven, and it does not mean that rich people will not enter the kingdom of heaven, but rather Jesus speaking to a specific man with a specific heart issue. The camel either refers to the direct human impossibility of a camel cloning trough the eye of a needle( but what is impossible for men is possible with God). Or it is referring to the passage way into the holy city of Jerusalem that some people believe had a small passageway that would be very hard for a camel to crawl trough. (This passage way is called the eye of a needle) Most likely would have to unload the camel of the saddle and whatever it was carrying and also potentially bend its knees to enter trough the gate which resembles the need to of load your burdens to God, and to humble yourself, bend the knee. I would also like to say that the idea of 2 messianic figures is heretical teachings. Jesus is both the promised king of the Jews and the high priest! The king represents its rulership/ lordship and the high priest represents the entering in to the inner sanctuary( tearing of the vail separating the inner sanctuary) also Jesus is referred to the spotless lamb of God and only the high priest could slay the lamb on the alter for the forgiveness of sin! Jesus is the only spotless lamb and the only one fit to prayer the lamb. John was the last mighty prophet preparing the way in the wilderness.

The Babylonian Empire, under King Nebuchadnezzar II, conquered Judah in 586 BCE. This period of exile lasted for around 50 years, until the Persian king Cyrus the Great conquered Babylon and allowed the Jews to return to Judah and rebuild the Temple. If Ezra returned in 457 BCE, he was quite late.

@@sunbit7281 so yes there will always be a difference on opinion about these dates .as it goes so far back.but our Great FATHER knew this would happen.So He gave John whom was given two dates in relation to the time of the end 1.in revelation chapter 12 verse 14...for time and times and half a time or 42 months the Jewish calendar: 42times 30 = 1260 yearys as a day for year in Bible prophecy.and again in revelation 13another 42 months which comes to 1260.but we need a starting point for this 1260. For that I used encyclopedia of world history by William Langer.page 186 the king Justinian general ( Belisarius...he recaptured southern Rome in 538 at this time Rome was no longer a military power but a religious one!!!! So now we have a date that all are in agreement. So from 538 you add the 1260.this will bring you to the year 1798!!!!! The exact year Napoleon had the pope arrested.that pope died then the priest cast were reinstated....now in the book of Daniel chapter 12 verses 11 and 12 you have two dates 1335 and 1290 a 45 year difference ...now add the 45 year to 1798 you come to the year 1843 the original date of the millerite movement.he got the date right but wrong on the event...then a 33 degree got him to add another year to 1844 !!! Another wrong date ....so some church came out of Mr.miller 2n 1863 a church called 7 day advent or something like that.....but sadly the stick to a wrong date they say the blessing of coming to all this led them to worship on Saturday....of unrelated info is you can Google it and the US government infiltrate the church besides another group.So now their teaching are like some paper chase....but we all know it's not the church you go to it's your relationship with our Creator....note I did leave out how all this is in perfectly allied with the 2300 year prophecy... Well God bless you and your family.so be it.

Elohim (God) from Genesis 1 > Yahweh Elohim (Devil) from Genesis 2 [Note] Why do Jews call God Elohim? Elohim is thus the plural construct "powers". Hebrew grammar allows for this form to mean "He is the Power (singular) over powers (plural)."

@@lindaliestman4397 That might be theologically correct but the Zealots were also a militaristic group of Jews that waged constant Guerilla tactics against Roman control. The fact that Jesus came into Jerusalem and threw the money changers out of the Temple, made him into a prime target for being a Zealot. Rome only crucified for one reason, to make a political statement, Rome did not care what the Jews thought, nor did they follow Jewish desires. This culminated in 70 AD with the complete destruction of the temple of Jerusalem and banishment of all Jews from the city. Finally ending with the complete destruction of Masada and later the defeat of the Bar Kappara rebellion.

broken pots in a cave. Given you know that essene purity and baptism really meant not just a sip of water but actually immersion into water, the suggestion of an essene baptism cave becomes life-of-brianish. i have a different suggestion to make: you break a vessel when you declare to abstain from drinking. You empty the cup, you ritually burry the already broken vessel, and then you go on your deadly jihad (pissibly as a group), where you will probably not even have a burial! Try some dating first!

Well Mark does not tell the story which James Tabor wants you to believe In Marks baptism _On coming up out of the water he saw the heavens being torn open and the Spirit, like a dove, descending upon him._ note the heavens _torn open_ (as if a temple curtain is torn) In Mark _At once the Spirit drove him out into the desert, and he remained in the desert for forty days, tempted by Satan. He was among wild beasts, and the angels ministered to him_ Note: driven into the desert Can you see how language portrayes conflicts. you can almost think that Satan turns into an angel. And then the really difficult thing happens emediately next: _Now after John was taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee_ If Mark does _not want you to think_ that Jesus handed over (think iscariot) John, then he does the worst possible job.

Funny, I just Podcasted today all the truth of the real Jesus- who was the savior of the Roman empire, the emperor Vespasian, who was related to Flavius Josephus in the female line. The new Jerusalem migrated westward, with another member of the flavian/Josephian clan, the one called Joseph of Arimethia, taking John the Baptists' wife and child to Rome and then Gaul. Messiahs always come in pairs to the chosen families - one a prophet who updates the prophecy and the other who continues the true line as a family of power. The assassinations of Nero and Galba forced to Roman keepers of their hidden female line to join with the keepers of the hidden seleucid/ptolemaic line to raise Flavius Josephus to be the Emperor they had hoped caesarion would be, uniting the Roman world and Persian worlds. The trade/financial mafia families of history know secrets of tge Messiah game, but not how to attract the attention of Karma and God to make a real Messiah with a capital M and get him to wake up fully from reincarnation amnesia. The truth is out now, and all the old secrets will be revealed, to the great disappointment of cherished blood lines that have passed their 12 generation expiration date
