100% agree with this. It's more mind games than anything, and as hard as it may seem, you just have to put the mistakes you do make, to the back of your mind. 2 days before my second test I had an absolute nightmare of a drive. I actually ended up having two lessons that day because I was so bad. You must focus on the present, because the second you take your mind elsewhere then that's when your most likely to make errors. If your really determined to pass then a bad lesson or two won't affect you. Safe travels everyone 😊

Absolutely. I have my test coming in two weeks, and just week ago, my lesson was terrible. My instructor told me that if I was that bad, we wouldn't have enough time for the test😂. Since I can only do 1 or 2 lessons a week. I started doing lessons with my instructor a couple of months ago.. My recent lesson this week feels much better. I will have lesson again next week and until my test. Hopefully I stay focused and keep it up.

I quit 15 years ago and never went back to it. Eventually started back last August and passed in February. I’m 52 and regret those wasted years. Keep at it. It’s not impossible.

Moving on from your mistakes is a skill that needs to be practiced like any other. I love driving now but it took a LONG time to get there. I wasn't a natural at all. I started learning when I already had a family in my late 20s/ early 30s. I would get home from my lessons and tell my wife that if it wasn't because I knew I needed to be able to drive for our family, I would just give up. Because I had a motivation that was greater than my hatred of doing something I wasn't good at, I stuck with it. 100 hours of lessons and 3 driving tests later, I'm a bit of a driving nerd now.

This is why I told my driving instructor if I could have lessons in the morning as I feel my concentration levels are much better. But I completely agree never give up I have failed my test so many times and took a break for awhile but I’ve decided this year that I want to pass my test so going to to keep practising on roads.

Great advice, I tried to learn when I was a lot younger and didn’t have the right instructor for me and was just too nervous so gave up. Went back many years later and passed first time. I definitely found the right instructor for me this time round and was honest with him about how I was feeling as lessons tired me physically and hurt due to my health conditions. My advice is never give up, keep going and you’ll get there. I’m so glad I gave learning to drive a second go and wish I’d never have given up back then!

Well I tried driving but my dad was a cheapskate and never helped me anything including driving so I gave up driving for 20 and I ride bike ever since. Thank god that feeble old man passed away because they say “if someone doesn’t support you during the worst, then they don’t deserve to be in your best times”. I still regret and cry everyday when I ride my bicycle thinking about my driving. This is another reason I can’t get married therefore I am single and shamed frequently by people. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭🤣😭😭😭😭😭

I quit learning 15 years ago after loads of failed tests. Only last week or so did I decided to try again! lol. Don't be like me. If you are young and struggling, just keep going! Statistically you're basically guaranteed to pass at some point if you keep going! (although I do understand that the cost of lessons and stuff nowadays could be a legitimate deal breaker for lots of people taking the decision out of your hands). but I quit out of frustration and a sense of impossibility. Anyway, i'm back at it again. I just have to accept it's probably gonna take me another 6-10 tests but i'll get lucky at some point! lol (came very close on tests a few times). I you weren't a few hours away from me i'd love you as a teacher. I think you're a really good teacher and you just come across as someone who would make their students feel kind of relaxed. Takes a certain type of person to be a good teacher and not just someone who can drive and trying to teach

I remember I had one really bad lesson 2 weeks before my real test for no reason whatsoever. It’s just the one lesson a so went on to driving how I normally would and thankfully passed my driving test first time with 8 minors 😅. Think it mainly came down to the nerves and the test date getting closer.

Alot of people have had 30 over lessons and can drive! And do be driving on L plates the tests just make it so difficult to pass for 1 major fault because of nerves but people who acc be driving on roads with full licences dont even signal!

Yes unfortunately after passing the driving test, some people start to forget to signal.

@cauha12 yes but don't worry about it . There is more to signaling than the indicators. First you have postion are they slightly left or right. What's thier speed like is it too fast to make the turn so thier signal is miss leading or or they going slow positioned to the right with a junction on the right to turn into or come up to end of the junction and they are positioned to the right or left. Even without the indicators on you should actually know what they are doing. If im cycling and wanting to turn right I ain't holding my arm out the whole time. Some I don't even bother with the arm signal. The signal starts with me looking back and seeing where people I may but a signal on or may wait to let the car is past then move to the center line once on the center line a hand signal doesn't help my position tells everything that I'm going right . Then I may give a confirmation signal I'm turning right if it maybe useful. The thing is you as learner rely on the signals to help you and they should be used but other information should be taken in into account which does take more time to learn to read. Next time you out driving and someone put on a late signal but you have already realised they are turning left etc but you had called it before the signal. Then the signal doesn't really matter as you already know but it does give confirmation and makes thinks easier. Instead of going they didn't signal try to work out what the signal may be before they signal so so think of what they are doing where are the tyres pointing say on the roundabout etc
