Jamie Drysdale makes it to Philadelphia Flyers practice, will he play on Wednesday? | PHLY Sports

As the dust settles from the Flyers' blockbuster trade of Cutter Gauthier to Anaheim, the focus now turns to the big piece that the Flyers received in return for their former top prospect -- 21-year old defenseman Jamie Drysdale, the 2020 sixth overall pick. PHLY Sports' Charlie O'Connor has the details from Drysdale's very first practice as a Flyer, including how he found out the news of the trade, whether he'll be in the lineup on Wednesday, and what John Tortorella believes will be the biggest adjustment for the young blueliner as he tries to establish himself in Philadelphia.

My biggest concern is his durability. He's played a total of 18 games over last season and this season combined. Also the fact that he's a career -43 is somewhat concerning as well.

@@Fisklingur you're right. The guy is Bobby Orr incarnate. 🙄 Incidentally in his only full season his +/- was the worst on the team and his -26 is nearly twice that of the next defenseman but I don't know what I'm talking about.

@@vimes3702 Nope, didn't complain about Johnny G at all. The Flyers made the right decision for once. Long way to go before the playoffs but I'll stick to what I've said, this isn't a playoff team. Funny how the numbers indicate how bad Nic D is when he's on the ice. GF vs GA for one. He brings nothing to the team except an occasional fight that in today's game is meaningless. Keep with the caveman mentality, it's obviously been working so well for the franchise.
