This movie was the second of four collaborations, between Dan Ackroyd and Jamie Lee Curtis. First was "Trading Places" (1983) with Eddie Murphy, "My Girl 2" (1994) with Anna Chlumsky, again, and "Christmas With the Kranks" (2004), with Tim Allen. They certainly had the chemistry, for acting, together.

I don’t blame Dan Ackroyd’s character wanting some peace and quiet, while he’s working his own high school teacher’s corpse, though. It wasn’t such a pretty sight, either, I could tell you. And it looked very personal, to him.

It’s not that Harry couldn’t be bothered, he loved Vada very much. He was just a hurt, closed off, shy single father of a young daughter. I plan to become a mortician as well, and I can tell you that not only is it time-consuming and detail-oriented work, it’s also emotionally taxing to prepare a funeral. He’s still trying his best with what he’s equipped with, it’s just not much.

If I ever meet Anna Chlumsky in person, I'd tell her that I loved seeing her in that movie with Macaulay Culkin (she'd think I'd say "My Girl"), "Uncle Buck". It's true. They were in seperate scenes, at the time, but she was actually one of the girls in the scene with Gaby Hoffman, during which her teacher shouts out "BLASPHEMER!!".
