I kept waiting for Ellen to pull the gun on him, I mean, the man is trying to communicate with her and she almost literally puts up a wall in his face. He's strange, yes, and there might be something off about him but regardless of the fact that it's part of his charm, he's acting like that because he's been through HELL, from 14 to 32, including heroine addiction and his father publicly stating that he wasn't his son anymore and that he was already dead to him. Adding that to the fact that he basically raised his brothers and sisters while trying to grow up himself-the kid is doing fine. And he not only deserves Ellen's respect but I think she should put her judgment and sarcasm aside for a second and look him in the eyes when he talks. Maybe there's something behind the words and mannerism that she could have had the chance to bring into the light and she dismissed. And one day someone would sit down and interview him and he would recognize all these things and would push the right buttons and release the things that she missed. Too bad, Ellen. Really too bad.

Macaulay has always been one of my heroes. There was a time I knew the whole script of My Girl by heart because I watched it at least twice a day. This is the first time I see an interview with him and my admiration of his personality multiplied by 100. A couple years ago I had the great opportunity to visit the USA and we were passing through Florida. I remember seeing a house on the corner that looked almost identical to Vada's house in My Girl, when I found out it actually is the house used in the film. That was the best moment ever!
