Honestly Jamie, this video just shows what a kind heart you have. Even through the most joyous experience in your life you are thinking of those who didn’t get to experience the same. My little girl will be 1 next month, I had such a traumatic experience which has totally convinced me not to do it again and I am currently receiving EMDR therapy to help me process everything. But even the acknowledgment that you are thinking of people who didn’t have the best of times really warms my heart. Your wee baby girl is amazing! And I also want to say that the Midwives (most of them) at the Princess Royal are absolutely amazing 🫶🏻🫶🏻

I’m 5 weeks postpartum from my second baby. I’ve had 2 traumatic births and I don’t realise how much it has affected me until I think back to it or listen to others positive birth stories. I hold no bitterness to those who had great experiences, more grief for the experience I didn’t get. However, I have 2 healthy children come from my experience, even if bad experience - and for that I am grateful as I am still very fortunate compared to some others. I’m so glad you had a great experience, Romy is a beautiful name 😊❤

Lots of love to you Leonnie. I feel the same. It brings up huge grief but I’m also happy for others having a good experience. And having a healthy child is everything. I wish you and your kids every happiness and all the good things ♥️

I have three children and my first birth was perfect. The second came with some problems but my third...it was traumatic to the point I ended up in the ICU fighting for my own life within 3 hours of giving birth. Now I have been told I cannot have any more children and while I'm so grateful for my children the fact my last birth was so horrific has definitely left me with an odd sense of sadness.

I’m on the same boat. I had a traumatic birth with my boy just last year and I still struggle with talking/thinking about my birth. I feel like I was robbed of that beautiful moment of my son being placed on my chest and skin to skin etc. the first person who fed my son was a midwife with a bottle because I was too unwell to be able to. At the end of the day me and my baby made it out alive and well and I guess that’s the main thing but it’s still hard. So yeah I feel you hon 💔 You’re not alone in your feelings 💕

C- sections aren’t easy your cutting into 7/8 layers of muscle and other things, it’s not easy. You went through a lot
@Chloe299XxX Жыл бұрын
I never understand the C section being referred to as the easy way out. A section is a major operation. It's really hard recovering from that and worrying about your baby and you can't drive or lift your baby naturally. To me it's harder
@brittbecka8552 Жыл бұрын
@@Chloe299XxX damn right it is. My friend had twins and I could see the pain she was in. I had my son naturally because I couldn’t lose my independence I was out walking 2 days later like a old lady. I can’t imagine what a c section is like. It was like terrible period cramps I was dying. I fucking applaud woman who had c sections
@afroretro_Selina Жыл бұрын
@@brittbecka8552 I've had 2 C sections. My first C section was emergency and because I went half way through labour my recovery was hard. I had to take morphine. My 2nd c section was planned and my recovery was allot better. I'm currently pregnant with my 3rd child and I'm going to have a planned c section. It isn't easy especially with breast feeding, holding your baby, have to hold a pillow when your laugh or sneeze and having other kids to look after. But in my experience having as much help as you can makes a huge difference in your recovery🤎

Congratulations! Back labor is no fun. I had it with my first who was back to back the entire labor. Chain saw and sledge Hammer back... Bringing in your music was such a great idea to attach memories to. I found 6 weeks postpartum to be difficult emotionally too. Make sure to talk to someone, even if it's just small talk in the street with a neighbour or stranger, there is something about a conversation in person that can be an anchor when you're struggling. Even talking to the birds to stay sane . Take care 💚

As a youngish midwife, this video is the sweetest, kindest gift to the girl who looked after you 🩷 there sometimes is a bit of stigma around being a bit younger, and especially nowadays with how tight the NHS can be with staffing and time we get quite a lot of negative press- it is so so sooo amazing that you had a good experience and it will make her feel so valued that she was able to help make you feel like that 🥺 I’m also sure she was quietly buzzing to look after you in labour 😂
