Currently performing this task all alone. So this video and your other videos running step by step in my garage is like you guys are coaching me over my shoulder. Thanks a ton!

Thanks for the video. Last night, put a new Mopar timing chain set, tensioners, and tensioner guides on my 2005 4.7L Jeep engine. Cost was $350 from Summit Racing and RockAuto for the tensioners. Very easy and fairly quick 45 minute one man R&R job with rubber bands and short bungee cords. Key was taking off the cam shaft rocker arms before installing the timing chains. That allowed me to spin the cam smoothly and easily to get the chains on fast and correctly. (Edit add: It was only 45 minutes because the valve covers and timing cover were off already since I replaced both heads).

So I can move crankshaft a little to align when chains are off? I don't have to spin engine all the way back to tdc ?
@wd26993 жыл бұрын
Does the tensioner puts pressure on the guide as soon as you remove the release pin? Because when I remove the pic from the tensioner, it does nos reach the guides.

When the V8 mark is at the twelve o'clock position, the engine is at TDC on the exhaust stroke. If the V8 mark is at the six o'clock position, the engine is at TDC on the compression stroke.

Hey, whats up man. Just got the cylinder heads back from the machine shop; and for some reason the left cylinder heads camshaft is very stiff when I torque it down to specs. Do you by any chance know why? Thank you for your time.

+Danny Andrea Loza you know I'm not sure if you have seen all of our videos on the 4.7 cuz we did, like I had tear down and all of that good stuff also we did a video on the complete timing job in one continuous video, but I just caught what you said on the other about the groove in the head I'm I wonder what caused that

@jamiejonesthecarman9 жыл бұрын
+Danny Andrea Loza Hi Danny, I think you can get by without taking the rocker arms off, but the back head bolts are really tough to access.
