I live in Brazil , my family is Italian and came here after the first WW . I've aways been proud of my heritage and have aways cooked Italian food the way my Nona and Mama taught me , but Gennaro took it to a whole new level and now I've improved all my Italian recipes because of him . Thank you so much, the farm outside cooking reminds me of when I was a kid and my grandpa would do what you are doing, cooking laughing after working all day in his fields, thank you for the memory, I could smell his cooking while watching you!... he came over. to the U ited States from Milan in 1918 My dad was born on his farm in 1927 and I am enjoying your video, all because of them and what they taught me to love. Gennaro makes Gnocchi just like I do and have learned form my family in Italy. I have not made it with pesto, but will try it. We also make Gnocchi with browned butter, and also with garlic and olive oil. Either way its amazing. Buon Appetito!

I love how Gennaro eyballs all the quantities. Americans would be like: "Use 1,5 cups of Flower and 3 ounces of potatoes!"

He can eyeball the quantities because he`s a skilled chef with decades of practice. If you make Gnocchi for the first time though, you appreciate his mentioning of the exact quantities (500 g of potatoes, 150 g of flour, 1 egg yolk).
