Thank you Jamie! Made it today with what's available in my kitchen and it was absolutely delicious! pancetta, onion, celery, potatoes, baked beans, kidney beans, added tomato puree and barley! (from your lovely friend Genaro Cantando) i am happy.

This is one of the reasons I love Jamie's recipes. With most recipes you see you'd think you need to buy a special pasta or some particular variety of bean. Jamie? Just bash up your leftovers and use whatever beans and veggies you've got. Still tastes good.

Having binge watched so many of Jamie’s videos (who doesn’t binge watch these days?), I am reminded as to why I loved him initially in “The Naked Chef”. His enthusiasm for his craft is infectious. Plus he does not put on airs as a “chef”. He makes the effort to show how to reduce waste in the kitchen and how to use what is on hand to produce wholesome food. Kudos, Jamie!

A long time ago I complained that you were talking too fast Jamie, and today I just wanted to first apologize for that if it caused any negative emotion especially if you just want to be enthusiastic and passionate, and second I note your calmness in this video is subjectively to me today: perfect. Very therapeutic and natural as I stand nearby. Very optimal technique exposition. Very beautiful content :) Thanks for your continual good work out there.

Hi Jamie. I holler all the way from the Philippines. I love what you and your team do. Thank you for being committed in making delicious, healthy food. I think at the end of the day, you just want people to be happy and healthy. Food is the medium you chose to express your love for people. I know it's what you do best. But I think taking care of people you don't even know is your gift. I used to watch your shows in TV even when KZbin wasn't a thing yet. You were always kind and thoughtful. God bless you and your beautiful family! I already miss your travels and sharings. When this whole corona virus thing blows over, I look forward to your food and travel vlogs. More power to you, your family, and your professional team. Thank you!

Another commentator called it, in a positive way, poor man's soup. I love these dishes from France, Portugal, Italy and Spain. My wife is Spanish and we eat this sort of thing. Great food that does not have to be expensive. If only people could learn to cook.
@HolyMess4204 жыл бұрын
Makes me feel comforted through woods and waves. 🙂 I love seeing Jamie use the ribs of the Kale. I've been trying to waste as little as possible for a while now and have been experimenting with cooking parts of produce that is usually advised to be discarded.
@thisorthat76264 жыл бұрын
Holy_Mess, good for you! The tops of most root veg are edible. We have gotten "lazy", IMO, and throw away a lot of parts that people used to eat. Beet root greens, radish greens, the white rind of watermelon, are all very healthy for us. Before I throw something away, I do a quick google search to see if it is edible and get ideas on how to cook it. Keep experimenting and learning. Blesings.

Josephine Paraiso Viernes home made minestrone is a firm favourite in this house. My husband is a vegetarian so it’s a really lovely way to use any veggies passing their best. My only essentials are onions , other than that, pretty much anything goes. I like a handful of small pasta, I buy the soup pasta normally, but as we know life is not normal right now. I occasionally throw a couple of handfuls of lentils in for the last hour, instead of pasta.. My adult daughter loves making her own version too, she says she can feed a hungry family of four for under £2.00

you dont even need to use stock. just plain water is fine. The vegetables you add in are already a base of a good veg stock and the umami from the tomatoes brings out the richness in the soup.
@marcolearmont69994 жыл бұрын
Water is of course always fine, but for depth of flavor stock is always preferred (and used by chefs and top restaurants).
