When I got engaged, my mother offered to give my now-husband her diamond so that he could design a ring for me. I didn’t have a ring (it was being custom made), but I considered myself engaged because we had committed to being married, had set a date, and were planning a wedding. BUT I got so many strange looks and off-putting questions when I told people I was getting married even though didn’t have a ring to show off. People attach allot of value to that ring - even more than the commitment that it represents. For me, engagement isn’t a ring, it’s a commitment to join your lives to one another and that you will be married (actually, not just theoretically).

I proposed to my now husband with cheaper ring from Amazon, not that he is not worth, but i wanted him to have a say in the ring he’ll wear all his life. He loved the attention and the hunting for HIS ring. We had a great time and nobody told us anything about having cheap ring

I love the bride who had the idea to do the coffee bar! Super fun and unique. Maybe also add an iced coffee or cold press option too? Or even hot chocolate. Those could also be an easy self service thing like tea. If budget allows for it, you could also offer people ways to "make their drink fun" like providing spot for toppings like whipped cream, flavor shots, flavored creamers, ect. This could also allow you to do away with the sweet option. All in all, loved the coffee bar idea and Jamie had some great advice on this one!
