I will support the teachers perspective, because kids & younger generations are the future of any country if their brain fucked up there's no future for that country. If content creators are 2 million the addictive viewers/subscribers are 500million minimum. I'm not a tick-tock viewer but social media is addicted to me as well and it created problems in my life as well. It's already banned in India from an early stage.

So many people are consumed by not just Tik Tok but by social media. Our attention spans have shrunk to the point where most people have forgotten what life was like before Tik Tok. I remember when Tik Tok first came out. Everyone went crazy over it. I believe life was so much better before Tik Tok after Tik Tok society has changed drastically and not for the better. Yes, you have opportunties for people to make money etc. But the negatives far outweigh the positives I'm afraid. Especially the mental health side.

I’ve never used TikTok, but I don’t understand what the definition of a “real job” is in the western world. Do you mean work as a cashier? Make minimum wage like yourself? Or, do you just have an issue with the fact she makes 100x more than you by “entertaining” people? Same way actors make 10s of millions for pretending to be cool in a movie.

As someone who has over 400k+ followers on multiple faceless accounts and spends a lot of time on the app. I’m not completely against the ban as it takes up a lot of time and also fills your head with false information and reality.

We need to seriously emphasis on the negative aspects of social media addiction whether Tik Tok, Instagram, Shorts, etc. It's doom scrolling and it's horrible for your mental health. It leads to isolation, a lower attention span, increased depression and anxiety. This isn't some conspiracy theory. This is a legitimate thing and I have so many friends who end up quitting social media entirely because even they are admitting that it's THAT bad for their wellbeing. So while it's a benefit to businesses and content creators, people need to be more aware about this because this is really concerning when even teachers are telling you things like this

Yes, TikTok is taking our information. But Microsoft, Apple, Android, Facebook, Instagram, KZbin, etc are also taking our information. To the mum who said her children is spending too much time on TikTok, we used to parents complaining children spending too much time on Facebook, computer games, Wii games, Playstation, etc. Without TikTok, the children can still be addicted to other things. 😊

I have TikTok, but I don’t use it much. I sometimes use it for scrolling videos, but I don’t make videos. I just use KZbin instead, instead of TikTok.

No one has anything else to do? Like volunteer in building shelters for the homeless? Helpong and volunteering teaching kids, and many more and we need all the help we can get while you can get stipend and meal from it, you can get solid substantial connections from volunteering humanitarian work

The proliferation of TikTok in the west, is akin to the proliferation of opium in China, by the Brittish East India company during the Opium Wars.... The ideologies expressed by some of the people in this video is concerning "Just take my privacy" absolutely terrible take... Realistically, there are two conclusions to this, either TikTok is sold to an American company, or it's use is disallowed in the USA. In the case of the latter, its popularity will simply migrate to something like KZbin shorts, or Meta/Instagram reels. Nothing will change... Either the west controls TikTok, or it will be replaced by a similar sofware from a western controlled media company. TikTok is a plague, it's a psyop to destroy the minds of western youths, we will benefit from western moderation, it won't fix the problem of attention spans, and garbage content, but the underlying engagement, algorithm will be controlled more-so at the behest of advertisers, rather than the behest of the CCP.

I agree with the ban. I get it, I’m a kid who watches KZbin and fiddles around with stuff but I’ve never used TikTok. Only my friends have and my best friend needs a fidget toy to stop pressing my keyboard in school when I’m doing my work. If this app does that to him I’m for the ban

There are shortages in one of thw most important sectors for human existence: Humanitarian workers ranging from STEM fields, education, languages. It is better to be master of something than to be master of none, scrolling through non-substantial information because it is too random and too short for you to build an educational background or qualification for a career. Things that humans can't live without, clean air oxygen, clean water, clean plant foods... humans and ancestor organisms have lived for billions of years before tiktok came.

Simple ban it for kids under 13 and limit it to 40 mins for 13-17 ages. When you are 18 you should know what's healthy for you and what's not. You should also do a video about onlyfans and its effects on the content creator's and users. OF should be banned.

My problem with TikTok was that their's a lot of sus stuff and inappropriate stuff people are doing on it showing it to others trying to normalize it and how it's mostly children or teenagers and adults on it is creepy those videos of people singing together are painful lmao
