To anyone reading this, I consider myself as a high maintenance, beauty obsessed, confident and elegant young lady. My nails(toes and hands both) are done, my hair is healthy, my skin is smooth and everything. I always go out with a polished look, quality fabrics, ironed clothes without the tiniest stain existing. Yet I'm here to say: I've never removed the hair on my arms and I never will, even though I'm visiually a hairy woman. I also shave my body hair, except my arms. There isn't a spesific reason for that, I just don't see a problem with some part of my body being hairy, looks fine to me. So if you're suspecting that you should also wax or shave or laser particular areas on your body just because there are women does so, be unbothered if you have no problem with it. Elegance is beyond these shallow preferences.

i agree with and practice all but have one point. while body hair maintenance is a personal choice, it's illogical to call it unclean or unhygienic. if one bathes regularly there's no way their body hair is "unclean". because by that logic even head hair, eyebrow hair, eyelashes would be unhygienic. also i want to ask, whether the same standard is kept for men? do we call those unhygienic for having body hair + beards? i still believe removing body hair is a personal choice (which i make too). can even accept that some may find that more appealing to the eye. but lets not call those who don't "unclean" because it doesn't make sense.

Dear Jamila, please consider making a video on staying elegant and organised amongst the chaos of having children! I'm a new mum and suddenly I feel as if I have the most important person in the world to make a good impression on (my child) who watches my every move and yet I find it so hard to do all the little things while I care for him including staying organised and taking care of myself let alone him. I would love some tips from one mother to another, especially one who understands the desire to be elegant and present well even at home (or one could say especially at home).

Hello Jamila, I appreciate the fact the you mentioned that shampooing every day doesn’t cause hair loss. So true. One habit that is important to me is the Ayurvedic practice of daily tongue scraping. I do it twice a day after I brush when I get up and before going to bed.

It may not cause hair loss, but it's harsh for many persons, and many cheap shampoos strip the hair of its natural oil, leaving it fragile
@marielle206624 күн бұрын
@DORCASDIARIESMAKINGSTORIES I agree that hash shampoos with questionable ingredients are harmful. However, when I started having hair loss, I saw a trichologist, a dermatologist, functional medicine doctor. They told me that they see a lot of people who suffer from hair loss because they have clogged follicles that eventually can lead to hair loss. Obviously there are other root causes such as nutritional deficiencies, hormonal imbalance, mal pattern baldness, alopecia, etc. The protocol that I follow recommends washing my hair daily, alternating shampoos, using serums and red light therapy. By doing this diligently, I was able to regrow my hair.

A lot of people are a mess because of mental health issues like depression or even worse things . These people have a hard time taking care of themselves . That was the case with me for 10 years . People are depressed and mentally ill because of their bad relationships with ....other people that abuse them / don't try to understand them.
@JamilaMusayeva24 күн бұрын
This kind of habits also are important in staying mentally healthy. Self care comes in all forms and shapes.
@სალომეგუგავა24 күн бұрын
@JamilaMusayeva Only if you are in a safe space . In which I was not. So I could not do anything other than dissociating and isolating . Once you move physically away from an abusive household maybe you can put these ideas in practice. It seems like you are telling me "had you practice these things you'd be mentally fine"....unbelievable how you seem to make me responsible for the depression I suffered due to an abusive mother and an uncaring father . I tried to avoid coinciding with them as much as possible and in there house it was HARD to not bump into them in order to use the bathroom . Don't make me responsible for the abuser's behaviour and the paralyzing depression caused by abusive family. Unbelievable how you just said "take care of yourself and you'll be mentally okay". Tell that to prison inmates. Tell that to people locked up in psychiatric institutions who suffer abuse and are powerless to their family's narrative and their doctors , Tell that to hostages of kidnappers. There are certain boundaries in which these rules can be applied and outside of those boundaries you re really powerless and can not apply any self care unfortunately.

@@JamilaMusayeva you can't handle not even a bit of criticism right? Had to erase my comment in which I as saying that in some situations it is impossible to do any form of self care and that sometimes people can only do the bare minimum because of external factors such as violence and entrapment. Do you get offended by truth like this always ?
@სალომეგუგავა24 күн бұрын
@@JamilaMusayeva If you say that poor mental health is caused by lack of washing your skin and brushing your hair you have not much knowledge about how mental illness works. Mental illness is caused (mostly ) by an abusive relationship which ruins your self esteem which results in no interest of taking care of yourself and actual physical paralysis . So no it is not always the individual 's fault if they are a mess. If you find someone whose bag is a mes , hair oily and so on the helpful thing to do is to ask them if they are in an abusive relationship and help them escape . Then they may reach a point of being able to take care of themselves . It seems you never experienced an abusive relationship but others have and they can testify how extremely hard it is to have any self-love in those cases. I had none. And it was NOT my fault.
@Aria.Mtz5324 күн бұрын
Why do you feel “attacked” for her comment? I have been depressed (hospitalized), I have been abused, sexually, emotionally, physically, financially but I didn’t took her comment as negative because it has been proven than having a good hygiene and no house clutter can help with your mental health. My doctor advised me to at least do one thing for me on the days i was bedridden because of depression, even if it was brushing my teeth and go back to bed it will make a difference Girls, we went through horrible times but we don’t have to lash on others because of that. I pray god can help you heal and understand that hostility towards others will do more harm to you than to them Love you, sisters

Laser hair removal is the best invention! I was lucky to win an at-home laser hair removal device. Shampooing everyday may not cause hairfall BUT it will cause excessive oil production. If the person is stripping the natural protective oil barrier every single day and not allowing this barrier to recoup, the body will produce excessive amounts of oil to bring that protective moisture back. Then the person is left thinking “oh my scalp skin is so oily” when he/she is the one causing the excess oil production.

I'd like to point out, since it wasn't mentioned in the video, that laser is not suitable for everyone (best is fair skintone and dark hair) and that it's not permanent, no matter what they say. You'll have to go back, some people after 6 years, some after 15, it depends. It's also pricy and you'll need quite some sessions. The other thing is the risk of skin infection.

Flossing and brushing my teeth is something I cannot sleep at night without doing them. If I sleep without doing these two tasks, I wake up depressed

Same. It is a habit developed since childhood.

I always had natural very white teeth, unfortunately, due to the tablets I have to take, they have become a horrible colour and nothing I can do about it. It has had an impact on how I smile now🙁

I liked your video :) but you shouldn‘t brush your teeth after drinking or eating something high on acidity, which soft drinks have. You can damage your protective enamel and get cavities much faster.

And hair wash - wrong or harsh shampoo causes also damage to hair . Wrong for example: If you have oily scalp, you buy NOT hydrating shampoo -> instead you busy sth with lemon/mint etc detox shampoo

Ladies chipped nail polish isa big no no ..i dont ever have chipped polish and cabt stand anyone who does..either be regular or have nude polish that doesnt stand out if chipped and yes not everyone is doing gel or acrylics
@alexandraeverafter101524 күн бұрын
@@StarLight-g6u I always wear pale pink or nude because chips are inconspicuous and I am too shy to wear red or other bold colors. I recently discovered nail wraps, and they lasted me almost four weeks until I took them off when the roots were showing considerably. Look ma! No chips! I didn’t have to worry about touch-ups throughout my trip (and packing a bottle in my 3-1-1 bag, which I always pack to the max).

i enjoy you content but one thing you should know is that cracked heels is a sign of liver disease or vitamin deficiency. i have had this problem for years and wondered why. Please get your health checked if your heels are cracked.
