Lyrics:
Oh yeah, what we're living in (let me tell ya)
It's a wonder man can eat at all
When things are big that should be small
Who can tell what magic spells we'll be doing for us
And I'm giving all my love to this world
Only to be told
I can't see
I can't breathe
No more will we be
And nothing's going to change the way we live
Cos' we can always take but never give
And now that things are changing for the worse,
See, its a crazy world we're living in
And I just can't see that half of us immersed in sin
Is all we have to give these -
Futures made of When You Gonna Learn now
Always seem to, be govern'd by this love we have
For useless, twisting, our new technology
Oh, now there is no sound - for we all live underground

I remember when this song came out. I was 14 years old, and was a big Queen fan at that moment. The first time i heard When You Gonna Learn on tv, i was hooked up. Jamiroquai became a part of my life, and i could not get enough of their albums from the 90´s. Nowdays i still listen to their albums, but one thing is for sure. Emergency On Planet Earth is still today an album, that´s epic. Even if 20 years have passed, the message is still strong.

Still Jamiroquai's finest moment IMHO. Being there in 1993 and hearing this come on the radio (!) for the first time was something else - what an impact this song had, especially back then - the groove, lyrics/message, chord progression, arrangement - all perfect - and still as up-to-date as ever, hasn't dated a bit, yet it take me back to the early '90s. Peace.

I think this is their MAGNUM OPUS and I've bought ALL of their albums 😏. "SYNKRONIZED" and "DYNAMITE" are probably my favorite from the collective but that had a lot to do with my natural progression since their early stuff (essentially "Travelling Without Moving") which RE-introduced the BAND to a whole new audience mainly the MTV generation and their offsprings. "King 👑 For A Day" which is by the way a song written by Kay about a parting band member and their tumultuous relationship 😂😂is without question the group's single BEST WORK;from concept , execution, video treatment , song theme, critical reception etc etc

The song is “when” you gonna learn? Not “are” you gonna learn. It’s not about if humanity will wake up, it’s about “when”. Stop giving up and saying that nothing will ever change. It’s not true. At some point all of us, as a collective will learn the value of love during our time on this planet. Yes, the greed and violence and torture is rampant in our world, seemingly to no end, but that doesn’t mean you have to feed it or give it life. There is an abundance of love and care and light in our world too, stop choosing to ignore it. Stop focusing on the destruction.

I remember first seeing this clip on MTV - life changing experience, so different from anything that hit the airwaves and clubs back then - this is what really got me into Groove/R&B/Acid Jazz/Deep House and '60s/'70s original Funk. Just reseaching this guy and am impressed with this his funk. I came late to the party but I am glad I came. Was shocked this guy is a guy after listening to him and now seeing him. Excellent voice.

This group was ahead (and still is) of their time in the early 90's. Their music is soulful and so relevant even in 2016...this song doesn't feel outdated at all or even like it sounds as if it came from the 90's. Their music and albums are dope!

This tune really woke me up from my sleep. It had been YEARS since I had last tasted modern music, certainly before 1984... after that I had to rely on the '70s and early '80s catalogue. Then came these lads from London and delivered this funky Stevie Wonder/David Bowie tune (I'm mentioning Bowie because of the way the saxophone interacts with the rest of the instruments, I 'd last heard it by Bowie on "Young Americans") and I went like Naw, it was now, now alive and kicking. Went for it, never regretted it.

The 300+ DISLIKES apparently aren't learning from this message! The man may be an atheist but he's not blind to the cruel mistreatment of life around us... A lot of destruction plaguing the earth 💔 the Bible does speak big volumes on these matters...
