My sister had a tough pregnancy and childbirth, and afterwards she was like "yeah we're done, no more kids. That was way too difficult." And her husband was like "yeah, I don't ever want to see my wife go through that again, it was a bad time." I think it's very difficult to know whether my period pain is considered bad or only moderate, because you can't compare and feel someone else's pain. I know my sister with severe endometriosis had it worse, and I CAN toughed through mine most times when I take meds. Sure, I vomit repeatedly and can't leave the house without it getting worse, but maybe I'm just exaggerating? It's not that painful imo, the worst is the nausea. On the other hand I've self-harmed severely in the past, so I have a weird relationship to pain... How painful is "normal"?
@suchnothing2 ай бұрын
@@SamirCCat It's hard to tell over text if your question is rhetorical or not so I'm sorry if this isn't useful for you... but just in case you're wondering, a good rule of thumb is that pain or discomfort that interferes significantly with daily life is not normal. So, causing vomiting or making it difficult to leave the house is a sign that something isn't working right. It's the same with a lot of ailments. If it's a mild annoyance or inconvenience, it's probably not a huge deal. If it interferes with your regular functioning or prevents you from doing the things you want to do, it's worth getting checked out. Although with period pain you might have to argue with a few different doctors before anyone will take you seriously 😑 It's a legitimate question though, since people with period pain have been told for decades that it's normal no matter how bad it gets, so how are we supposed to know?

@@SamirCCat If you're vomiting because of the cramps, that sounds pretty bad. I think that once it's at the point where it's hurting you that badly (I mean, causing your body to reject food isn't exactly healthy or "normal) it might be considered abnormal.

If women are "mean" to men, it's usually when we are approached in an inappropriate location or situation, the man won't take no for an answer, or the man expects us to be grateful for the slightest attention paid to us. My ex used to call me ugly when I didn't wear makeup, so I had spent years just avoiding having a makeup-free face. Now I don't even remember the last time I wore makeup, and my fiancé still calls me beautiful every single day. Women, don't stay with a man who bases your value on your appearance. 8:18 People (some men) really think girls can hold in their periods like it’s pee because either poor education or fricked up beliefs so I came up with an analogy. Imagine a period being an open wound, it can’t be stitched up but can be bandaged. If the bandage isn’t changed, the wound can get infected. The wound will heal in a week or so but there will be spouts of pain. Everyone’s open wound is different and have to be dealt with accordingly. Renewing the bandage may take a minute to change but it’s better than going to the hospital for an infection.

A woman asked her husband why there were fences everywhere. The man said it was to protect her from the wolves. Having never seen a wolf, the woman asked the other women if they had ever seen one, and as no one had ever seen a wolf, they agreed to tear down the fence together. When women went out to search for the wolf, they soon learned that the wolf enjoyed the company of human and vice versa, and that is how we got dogs. ~ Allegory for feminism

4:40 The disgusting part is that books for girls less than 50 years ago still said that, yes, you must wake before your man so you can "glam up" to look good for him at all times. Oh, and don't forget to go refresh and change into your best dress after having run the household, handled the children, and done all the cleaning and have cooked dinner. Ok, this rant goes to the AH manager: As someone with PCOS, if im several months late to my period, then I'll be bleeding profusely, enough to soak with period blood any heavy duty tampon or pad in less than an hour. Fill up my menstrual cup (XL) in 30 mins blood runing down my legs with every step I make to the bathroom. Honestly, in that scenario I REALLY PREFER to just sit in the tub in warm water to aliviate the pain and meditate a little. This is really bad the first 4-7 days, it can last about 15-30 days (only if I'm several months late). IT SUCKS. Once I did a cleanse with St Peter cactus (is kind of like peyote, it has mescaline) and I just bleed for 3 month, 90 effing days! Beware, use sacred medicines with a lot of respect, they are WILD, you never know how is going to purge the body. I was prepared to puke my guts out, not heavy bleeding for 3 months consecutively. Also!!! vaginas can squeeze to a degree, yes that's true, but they don't have a sphincter nor are strong enough to prevent period to come out WTAF!!?? the higher body fat and lower muscle mass of women is actually an advantage when you think in stoneage terms. we have enough muscles to hunt and gather (women did hunt as well) but with more body fat women's bodies where insulated better and muscles take up a lot of energy. so less (but sitll enough) muscles means you need to eat less. so... women would freeze to death and starve less quickly then men. women's bodies are built for survival. men's bodies are built to impress. most other mammals have female choice (and our species most likely had as well. for the longest time of our existance as a species)... the males need to be pretty or they don't get to procreate. that's sexual selection. a not completely unimportat part of evolution...

Frogs versus toads is like turtles versus tortoises: “toad” is a common name for a specific type of frog, and “tortoise” is an unofficial term usually used to mean land-dwelling turtles. All toads are frogs but not all frogs are toads :D Thank you for the fun frog facts Edit: Minor edits to clarify tone

And also they can't really be differenciated by size since there are both frogs and toads of all shapes and sizes. Small species of toads are sometimes called toadlets which i think is very cute :) Toads usually have not just rougher but also dryer skin than frogs and are more often found wandering around fields or roads instead of in or around water, because of that frogs tend to have larger webbed feet than toads. Frogs also tend to have a greenish colouration more often than toads, which tend to be more of brown colouration (there are a lot of colours in both frogs and toads tho, for example a toad which is purple (purple harlequin toad) or a frog species that's red and round (tomato frog) amongst many, many others)

That restaurant manager should know that tampons have to be changed every 1-2 hours. Why? Besides leaking, tampons can cause toxic shock from bacteria building up, causing an infection leading to amputation of legs or even death. Besides a period women need to pee often and quickly. Delayed peeing can cause a UTI which in turn can lead to a kidney infection - which may lead to the kidneys being removed and then the poor person being hooked up to a machine to filter the body while a kidney donation becomes available. All because their manager doesn't respect human rights. Being able to use the toilet in a timely manner is one of them.
