That jamb work is tedious and time consuming, but you have them looking good.

Hello Adam, How does the fiber glass filler hold up over time vs regular body filler? Wouldn't the glass filler (at that thickness) break/crack apart, then have a leak? David
@HoosierGarage2 ай бұрын
@@dparramore5047 plastic filler will bust when over 3/8". This glas filler is rather thin once you work it doen AND it would brake anyways unless ot got a lot of flex. Thats why i touch up with bondo afterwards, they apply similar but the glass has more tensil strength. A few cars i have done in the past have more than thos in the roof seam. Over a decade old, no cracks or pops.

So you are just putting it over 2k primer??? Or is that epoxy??? Dont you have to rough up the surface?? Just wondering

@@gm-lb9oe epoxy, scuffed up and cleaned. I wouldnt put it over 2K.

where can you get those seam sealers I could use some of em it not like I got a rotted body work it just the seam on my Dakota cab is getting cracked for being old and factory original from a hot summer sun over the years.

Napa carries the seam sealers in caulk tubes, sometimes in brushable, and as well as the short strand fiberglass. they have their in house brand similar to Duraglas.

3M and SEM both carry good two part seam sealers that are sandable I’d you need to clean up edges and the dry time til they’re workable is 10-15 minutes. They are actual seam sealants, not body filler.

Fiberglass very strong durable and won't absorb moisture. I butt welded metal into trunk gutter on one of my project cars and sealed smoothed the welded seams with 3M Panel Bond. More expensive than fiberglass though.
