We appreciate your interest! We are not working on a bass model at this time due to the limitations of working with low bass frequencies, but maybe someday! For now, we're focused on the 6-string guitar format.
@GospelMusicians
@GospelMusicians Жыл бұрын
@@JamstikGuitars Ahh...Ok, so your technology is based on the fundamental frequencies and you probably don't have any sensors on the actual strings. I get it. Yes that would definitely be harder to do.
@LokeshThakur
@LokeshThakur 4 ай бұрын
@@GospelMusicians What do you mean by sensors on the strings? Isn’t it a hexaphonic pickup that captures vibrations from each individual string? According to one review, the processing work is done in the guitar’s onboard electronics instead of the computer, saving CPU power. There are pickups designed for detecting lower frequencies on the bass, but the issue lies in latency due to the low frequency. Pitch detection on thicker gauge strings takes more time, so the processing algorithm needs to be advanced and efficient enough to quickly and accurately determine the note being played. I’d imagine a guitar like that would cost almost double to manufacture compared to a regular 6-string, which could deter people from buying it, leading to the product failing.

Thanks for your very informative video. Question: for a live music setting, presumably you would need to get both the 1/4” AND one of the other outputs connected to the mixer, and use the smartphone app to control the sounds, correct?

I didn't realize the new models have a full size body!! While I do like my original Jamstik Studio with the compact form, an actual full size body would be better. Wish I could do a swap :P

Thanks for being a customer! We had a lot of feedback from players that they'd prefer our tech in a more traditional form factor, so we did our best to deliver! The Jamstik Classic has the same technology as the Jamstik Studio, just in a full-size body with a headstock design. If you could have our tech inside any other electric guitar, what would your dream Jamstik MIDI-enabled guitar be?!
@pixxelpusher

@@JamstikGuitars I have to agree, a more traditional form factor is preferable. Maybe a guitar exchange program? I personally think any of the classic body designs would work. Gibson, Ibanez, Jackson.

Just bought one of these. Arrived in a dirty case (inside), no software, no USB charging cable and battery flat as a pancake, therefore wouldn't work and had to return it. Jusdging by comments on Amazon, lots of other customers have had it arrive with parts missing. Returned it, getting my money back, and totally put me off buying another one. Pretty useless.

Hey there - we're so sorry that your unit shipped without a USB cable-we had a handful of units impacted by this issue that went to Amazon, but if you reach out to our team via support@jamstik.com, we're happy to ship out a replacement cable! The battery likely does have a charge, but the guitar needs to be "woken up" by the USB cable, which obviously we know you weren't able to do as yours was missing the cable. (Again, we apologize for the quality control hiccup.) The software is a free download on jamstik.com, we do not have a physical version of our software that ships with the guitar, it's all downloadable for free from our website - you can get it here: jamstik.com/products/jamstik-creator-software If you have any other questions or feedback, please do reach out to support@jamstik.com, we'll be sure to sort out your issues and make up for the missing USB cable!

If you ever want to swap the guitar pickups, is that straightforward like a regular guitar? Or is it difficult because of the tech inside the guitar?

Swapping the pickups is straightforward, just keep in mind that any modifications would void the warranty (though we'd still honor any warranty for the MIDI components).

Hi Jamstik folks. What I am struggling finding is if Jamstik has virtual guitars in their sound possibilities. I know the Jamstik is an analog guitar in it's own right, with pickups, strings, 5 way switch...but does it have guitar tones in the virtual world? As an example, I know, via it's midi pickup, it can do keyboard sounds, but can it do guitar sounds using the midi pickup by selecting virtual guitar sounds? If it does, how do they sound? Does it have acoustic guitar sounds via using the midi pickup? Can it do Les Paul tones using the midi pickup? If so, then can you do alternate tunings for those sounds using the midi pickup? Is there a video demonstrating this if it does this? Thanks, and hope you all at Jamstik are doing great!

I’m also curious. There is an acoustic guitar sound I believe, so it’s probably doable, but I’m not sure as I don’t have one personally (yet). But, seeing as it doubles as just a regular guitar, I highly recommend you look into Neural Amp Modeller. As the name implies, it models amps, not actual guitars, but most of a guitar’s tone comes from the amp anyway so it’s worth looking into! (Oh, did I mention that it’s completely free and open-source? because it is)

Please make a bass guitar next. Your guitars are probably the most reasonable midi controllers out there. Also, does it only use 1 midi channel? My current midi guitar uses 1 midi channel for each string it has.

The style is the only difference between the two models! The Jamstik MIDI guitars all utilize the same hex pickup and processors onboard the guitar. The Jamstik Studio is headless and has 24 frets, and the Jamstik Classic has a more traditional S-style body with 22 frets.

maybe a stupid question, if I connect it via USB, is it possible to use it like any other midi controller in my DAW to play any VST Synth like Kontakt or Sylenth etc. or do I have to use the Jamstik Control Software?
@JamstikGuitars
@JamstikGuitars Жыл бұрын
It's not a stupid question at all! The Jamstik's are all class-compliant MIDI controllers, so they work with any DAW, plugin, or app that accepts MIDI input. You can use Jamstik Creator (Mac/PC - Standalone/AAX/AUv3/VST3) or the Jamstik Control app (iOS/Android) to adjust your settings or match parameters like Pitch Bend range or your MIDI mode to the software you're using the Jamtsik with. Once you have your settings dialed in, they'll remain on the Jamstik device settings itself. So for example, you could be connected over USB to your laptop using Sylenth, and connect to the Jamstik Control app over Bluetooth to swap from Single-Channel to MPE mode, or turn off pitch bend, etc. Let us know if you have any other questions!

@@JamstikGuitars You copied the you-rock guitar. Your factories allready have the tooling for that (since you-rock was made over there), but you charge more than 2x the price, and have less features. Also the startup sound is annoying for any music player. You didn't even rip off the Free-Pats project (opensource) which would give you better sounds for free. You used the default you-rock sounds (not even all of them). The only thing you did is make the fretboard longer. Complete cash grab and rip off. You should be charging less since you didn't have to do ANY R&D. And as I said: supporting "midi over usb" isn't MIDI. MIDI includes the physical big DIN connector. All our synths take that. Your tiny fking usbc connector WILL break. Look if you chnks want to fight: time and place. We "whites" (note: 1/2 irish so "not white") don't have alot of money anymore since we're fighting 1) Russia 2) YOU 3) for is-ra-el And now you diss us with this rip off? Why? Also you are RIPPING us off for this sh*t. We will get revenge for this. Do you understand? We know what you're trying to pull. You want to scam our money away and sell us a plastic POS for more than 2x the price with less features. You laughing at me? I know peeps who have contacts in China.
