What did the Spirit teach you as you watched today's episode on the creation accounts?
@MikeGreenOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
The Spirit testified to me of the power of the helpmeet relationship. What a beautiful (and at times challenging and painful for some) doctrine. My hope is that I can strengthen my own relationship with my wife, and have more understanding and love for those who have not yet been blessed with finding their helpmeet in this life.

The puzzle analogy really resonated with me. We have all the pieces just not the current understanding to piece it together. Certainly I have tried to piece incorrectly pieces that I thought fit together to later find out they don’t fit together, yet they are still essential to the overall picture.

I like Taylor's explanation of purpose and function in a name. I've learned recently how some of the major players in the scriptures names have so much meaning in them. After learning how this was done in scripture history, it makes me consider how I may not have named my own children appropriately even though I love the names I gave them.. 🤷♀️. And, as usual, the entire lesson was educational. I feel as though I'm getting a BYU religious education degree by the time you've covered all 4 years of Come Follow Me!

Thank you for defining the word "dominion." So many, especially in regards to our relationship with animals, say that dominion means that mankind rules, humans are the boss, we can use what we want because we're the ones made in God's image. I believe that "dominion" entails so much more, and as exactly as you said, to guard, nurture, and be loving stewards over what the Lord has entrusted to our care. Just as in every aspect of stewardship, leadership, and priesthood, having dominion means that we exercise this power with love for those that we are commanded to care for. It doesn't mean that we exploit the weak because we're in charge

Aww, Bravo what a beautiful presentation. I really enjoyed the explanation on the theory of evolution, I thought that was very interesting. I know there is a reason why we don't have all the information about everything yet. It's totally up to the Lord what he wants to reveal to us about this. I love what Bro Halverson said about taking and holding onto all truth for now until the Lord reveals to us where and how they fit into the big picture. I love Bro Griffith's explanation on the Lord's commandment not to eat the fruit. I love that the commandment was presented with a choice. I loved the explanation for the word "Nevertheless". The whole lesson/presentation was just amazing. Learning about the creation and on how everything was named shows that the Lord is proud of his creations. I take from this presentation that God takes great joy and happiness in his work, praises be to God almighty I just love learning about him ❤.

I love how there is a purpose in everything He says and does. I love how we are meant to succeed and learn from opposition. It makes sense that failure is an opportunity to grow and improve. You are loved too always dear brothers, who help me be better everytime I listen to your lessons. I was listening while l worked. When l heard Taylor say he learned to love the flowers he was riding past because of their names, l burst into tears. God loves all of us like that. He knows our names. He gave us our names. We matter deeply to Him. It hurts His heart when we don't acknowledge Him and seek to follow Satan. He doesn't want to lose even one of us. My wayward children are just as beloved to Him as the prophet is. As they both are to me. This is pure truth.

This is an awesome study to share after your findings and to help us understand in depths of the doctrinal process and purposes of the study of the Old Testament. I really love listening and following your way of teachings, it’s our eye opening to learn and to know more what’s hidden treasures in the scriptures for us to learn and study. Thank you for all these preparations, it helps us a lot, much more than just listening to it, like you said God is still creating to now, thinking about the things we go through in life, is actually He know us individually and that’s amazing, I kind of coming to understand the beginning of the creation and how we fit in it, with all we face in our journey of life on earth, it really means the process and purposes, it cannot go with nothing in it we need to study for our good and our purposes to know our Creator better. I love it.

I am a convert to this church. I was baptized October 14 1967. The concept of the Fortunate Fall totally new to me. I was raised as a Presbyterian we didn't talk much the fall. My thought was generally it was a bad thing. I was genuinely surprised to think was good -- just not a good thing but a necessary thing to put the plan of salvation in play. This lesson isn't the first time that the fall was actually a good thing but noticing God planted both trees was a good to notice. We are not doing plan B It is the Plan of Salvation not a Plan. I liked Taylor reminding me not to look at it with a 20th Century mind set. The story of in the scriptures are meant to answer the who and why. I am glad you connected the Genesis story with the one in Moses and the one in Abraham. I have always read them separately. Combining was genius on your part. That shouldn't surprise me. As I am concerned you two are geniuses of the scriptures and you can teach at a level I can understand. I enjoy your enthusiasm and comradery. May God bless you and yours.

Tyler, I have another perspective that I have never inquired in discussion if it sounds possible, regarding Abraham 4:18 “And the Gods watched those things which they had ordered until they (the intelligences) obeyed.” Could it be possible that this is where, how, and when God ascertained and differentiated between the great and noble, and those who are less than great and noble?

Hi Brothers, When you were talking about a cook putting ingredients together to make something delicious. It reminded me of our Christmas tradition. My sister and I make a yummy stew we call, “Santa Claus Stew”. My sister has all of her family along with me and my husband over on Christmas Eve. I was the first to learn the recipe and technique to cook the stew from our mother. We would ask her for the recipe and she would say, you can’t just have the ingredients you have to come a learn how I do it. One December day Just a few years before she passed away at 2 months shy of 94, I watched my mom make the stew. I was amazed, I had no idea how she had made it herself all these years. There was a technique and if not followed the stew would just be blah. Over the years several family members have asked for the recipe. After I taught my sister she would tell them, I can tell you the ingredients but you should come over so I can show you how to cook it. Only one grandson ever took her up on the offer. She would wait a couple of days then call the person that got the recipe and asked how their Santa Claus Stew was. Every time the answer was “awful!” I think there is a lesson to be learned here too. We can have all that we need, but unless we put effort to learn or act we don’t have growth.

In my opinion I think the creation story is a literal explanation but from an eternal perspective. Evolution happened and this how God created man from the dust of the Earth. It's beautiful.
